I just bought a 8730w off eBay, and I have found out the serial number and p/n. When I lookup the warranty status is comes back empty!

    What does this mean?

The whole top part of the warranty lookup is there, the full model code etc. But the table just below it (that contains the actual warranty details) is completely empty.

Its not like the s/n and p/n are not recognized, because if I make up a s/n it comes back with an error, so its not that.

Its not like the warranty is expired either, because in that case it will still list it and say expired.

I'd like to extend the warranty if possible, but I need the existing warranty (out of warranty care packs aren't valid in Australia) .

Thanks Siorah, that one has given me a bit more info, it says...

"This product is out-of-warranty. For many products, post-warranty HP Care Pack Services are available when your original warranty has expired. For more information visit..."

Kind of odd for such a late model 8730w, it comes with the T9800 CPU, so it is one of the much later models of the 8730w. oh well. Thanks again (+rep).
