    Hi,
I have replaced ther motherboard on a HP Probook 4515s.
On the first screen on boot there is a message in the left hand corner of the screen stating "Invalid serial number".
I have put the serial number of the new board into the asset tag in the bios but to no avail.
    Any ideas?
    Brian

As far as I know this is not something you can do yourself.

I have seen this problem before. HP onsite support used some Dos based program called HPSETCFG. It can update the serial and some other stuff in the bios.
