I was having a hard time trying to get my ethernet working under Windows 10 (not receiving packets, both ipv4 and ipv6 say no internet connection) but it looks like there is more to it.
Tried different drivers etc. but suddenly I saw that the MAC address has somehow reset itself?
It's now showing 88:88:88:88:87:88, the NIC is Intel 82579LM

I saw a DOS bootable tool to change the MAC address but how am I supposed to find out my NICs real MAC?

Got it fixed! Used the DOS based EEupdate utility and imaginary MAC with Intel vendor ID part ;)
Wrong MAC turned out not to be the problem, my router got spooked to death seeing a null MAC on the network and the whole DHCP/LAN part of the network died. Hard reset and it runs again.
