    Hi guys,

Recently, i left my EliteBook 6930p on a Logitech stand, and unfortunately the rubbers on the bottom were not sliding proof and my notebook fell on the ground.

the computer itself is safe though the LCD Screen is F'ed up, but not totally.

check the link at the bottom, u can see the black line i have improvised to show you whats going on. The left side is totally functional, where as the right side is full of random colors.

my direct question is, is there anyway to LIE windows that the screen is actually made of 800x800 pixels rather then 1200x800 (i want the system to ignore those 400 horizontal pixels), of course, any sort of resolution change will include all the pixels in the process, is there any way to make it possible to ignore the right side???

    Screenshot

    cheers guys

my point is not to use it (right side), since i wont see the clock for example.

and it doesnt matter what u put on the background, the colors are random, meaning the right side is totally dysfunctional.

to avoid further misunderstandings, here's an image you might want to see first.

it's pretty clear that this isnt fixable, though helping me out with the question ive asked on the first post would ease my life a lot...(and annoy)

In terms of your question about changing the resolution, certainly, you can change the resolution setting. The problem is that in pretty much every system I've ever used, the new resolution will be centered in the middle of the screen, not offset to the left; so your "new" resolution will be centered in the middle of your screen, and you'll still be missing part of it.
