Looking for a 8740w with ATI FirePro and Dreamcolor 2!

I can't seem to find a model that has both.
    Anyone else?

It's there, when customizing, choose the Estar models and you should be able to combine both. I (and many others) ordered the exact same model ;)

I know this is an old thread (1 month) but did they discontinue the DreamColor2 for the 8740w? I only see the 8-bit DreamColor offered at a $570 premium!?!

I'm pretty sure the "2" got dropped a long time ago. The one offered is 10-bit. Also, $20 of that upgrade is for the camera option, and you can probably get a 28% discount making the upgrade $396 to move from WSXGA+ to Dream Color WUXGA+.

I'd even add I think the "2" was something added by consumers on the forums/blogs, to designate the revolutionary difference.

Anyone, did HP ever refer to it as DC2? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, HP referred to it officially in the 8540W CTO page under the display selection (DreamColor 2). Other than that, i can't find it anywhere officially except in offline conversation with HP.
