Just want to upgrade to 8GB from 4GB, and

    Newegg.com - 8510w Mobile Workstation,"CFG001M625572"

    recommend TWO options:

    Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Laptop Memory Model CT2KIT51264AC800 - OEM
    DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Cas Latency 6 Cas Latency: 6
    Voltage: 1.8V
    ECC: No
    Buffered/Registered: Unbuffered
    Model #: CT2KIT51264AC800
    Item #: N82E16820148232

    &

    Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory Model CT2KIT51264AC667
    DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)
Cas Latency 5 Cas Latency: 5
    Voltage: 1.8V
    ECC: No
    Buffered/Registered: Unbuffered
    Model #: CT2KIT51264AC667
    Item #: N82E16820148275

What is the difference for performance?

No difference. Your PM965 chipset would select the DDR2-667 RAM timings (333Mhz) (CAS=5) from either RAM module. The first RAM module has DDR2-800 support, so would give better performance in a one-gen newer PM45 chipset system.

    Thanks a lot, nando4!

    I will go ahead for DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) with Cas Latency 5 for saving 28 USD!
