    Hi,

As you will have picked up from my previous post, I am enjoying my new 8740W. However I spotted that the webcam was murky. On closer inspection it seems as thought there is moisture or grime behind the webcam cover. The is on next business day warranty, but I just wanted to checked whether there was anything simple I could do. The cover looks pretty fixed on to me.

    Thanks,

    Sam

Questions like this are exactly hat the Owner's Lounge is for. I'd suggest directing your 8740w questions there, though note that I am not a moderator.

Regarding the webcam, I've used mine once. It was terrible at capturing me in motion (while seated mind you, not like I was running across frame). So my first thought is to make sure you cannot get a clear image even while sitting still. But if you see something behind the glass, then yeah it probably has something wrong. I don't think opening the display is a good idea. Use your warranty for sure. If there is an easy fix, they should be able to walk you through it. Otherwise they will send a professional to you to figure it out.
