I have EliteBook 2530p, friend has 6530p. Both have Windows 7 installed with non-HP disc (anyone have the P/N for the HP disc... both shipped with Vista originally). I have "2400 series" black dock, friend has the metal dock (purchased on the same invoice as laptop from HP).

Both machines when docked and put to sleep or hibernation will complete the process... and then wake up again.

On my machine I have pretty much all the HP software, except for:
    HP Advisor Software
    HP SoftPaq Download Manager
    HP Client Automation Agent
HP 3D DriveGuard (uninstalled due to SSD)
    Intervideo WinDVD
    All the ProtectTools packages

HP Update indicates no updates. Windows Update indicates HP QuickLaunch update (if I install this then HP Update says QuickLaunch update)

How can this be resolved? Anyone else see this?

You are correct it is 6930p.

Anyways I got this figured out. It has nothing to do with docking or similar series laptops but they both have an Intel 82567LM network adapter. I am going to blame it on the network drivers and their default settings.

Device Manager -> Intel 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection Properties -> Advanced -> Wake on Settings

The default is "Wake on Magic and Directed" which I assume will cause the machine to wake if it receives any ethernet packet with its MAC address. Changing this to "Wake on Magic Packet" ("Magic Packet" is sent for wake on LAN) resolves the issue.

I guess when I am not using the docking stating and have the ethernet plugged in I hit hibernate and start to unplug everything.
