So my NW8440 recently has been having this problem,
I plug in the power and it automatically turns on by itself. Nothing appears on video or anything, the fan twitches and then the amber light blinks and it shuts itself off and the amber light blinks again.

For trouble shooting I slowly took off all the peripherals until I was down to just the motherboard+processor and it still did the same thing? Does this mean that my motherboard is probably dead?

I had a similar problem once and found that the power button was stuck and constantly pressed. You can check this.

Otherwise, this seems to be a hardware issue and they are almost impossible o diagnose over the internet. It does sound like a mainboard issue but it could also be the power supply or CPU. I guess you dont have any warranty?

Not much you can do I am afraid. Even if you find a cheap replacement mainboard there is no guaranty that it will work.

Does the machine boot normally when you press the power button?
