I often can't use my Note smartphone in hotelrooms,e.g. when I only have a LAN cable for internet access, or when the WLAN reception is to poor. Since I normally can get my notebook to access the WLAN Router if I use an USB WLAN stick with ext. antenna, I was wondering if there is a simple way to use the notebooks Bluetooth as BT router for my smartphone.

    YES see second post

A colleague tipped me to just connect my Galaxy Note via Bluetooth to my business notebook which runs win7-64. It worked when the business notebook is connected via WLAN to a WLAN-Router. Nothing to setup just connect and have access to data. The drawbach only for Apps that support BT as Network access. Unfortunately SAT>IP did not so Icould not check on the max. throughout of data.

I did not test range beyond the walls of my appartment yet, but it depends if I have a Class 1, 2 or 3 BT device. How can I readout the class of the BT devices in my business notebooks? Any ideas

In a similar situation where I had only a LAN cable for Internet access I used the "HP Wireless Hotspot" software which comes with the ZBook 15. It works like a virtual WLAN router and I connected my smartphone and my tablet to it.
