    Hi,

I've bought Intel 520 for my 6465b and it is not recognized by BIOS. When I tried to install system on it, and it was put as primary disk, where HDD was previously, I turned it on and I got just 5 blink caps + num lk and notebook stuck. I couldn't even get to BIOS.

Anybody hear about blocked SSD in hp bios? I know people with intel 320, m4 and Force GT in 6465b. Do you know any other SSD not working with 6x60b and 6x65b?

My new Crucial M4 did boot a few times and even let me install Windows 8/7. After a few more boots it will not move past the initial post screen. Great. Replaced with a C300 (64Gb) and it's all fine. The m4 has the latest firmware and while the other Elitebook/probook models have moved onto bios f.25 the 6465b has fallen back to pre-f.20. ?

I have m4 128gb for almost two weeks. So far only one BSOD. But it is something interesting. On every power on "num lk" blinks and notebook stuck at HP logo screen for few seconds more than when HDD is in 6465b. When boot to windows, on screen with windows logo always "caps" + "num lk" blinks one time.

I am also waitnig for new bios, and wandering why F.20 was roll back. It had "critical update" status in SoftPaq.

@Zaanton: I had the same drive in an 8760w and it worked fine. :/ Going to try it in a 6460b core i3 model.

Interesting. I've been using M4's (256Gb & 128Gb) post-0009 and so had the devs who were using the 6360b's and no-one's said anything. I've certainly not had any issues.
Furthermore all of my 6360b's now have 520's. Zero problems there too. Are you all keeping your BIOSes updated?

    hi,

I do not say I have any issue with m4, it works fine but there are some things (like this one blink during boot) which did not occur when HDD was in 6465b.

@Vogelbung - which BIOS do you have in 6360b's with 520's? Are they working on SATAIII speeds? Yes, I have F.20 BIOS which was the newest one, but suddenly disappeared from support site. Now F.03 is listed as the newest, but I can not roll back from f.20.

@Vogelbung: We have the 6465b which doesn't seem to be getting the same amount of love as the intel models :(

    Huh.

Ignorance is bliss, as they say. Found out something interesting on looking at my 6360's. All the 520's are running in SATAII. The systems are zippy enough as they are, I never noticed the difference.

    How do I fix that?

@Vogelbung - do you have latest BIOS? As users of elitbooks indicate (you shere bios with them) bios F.22 and F.25 limited sata speed to 3Gb/s. On F.20 people has Sata 6Gb/s speeds.

    I have F.22.

I did a fresh install on the 520's, which was pretty recent. I guess I must have done a BIOS update as part of that, as I do remember I was getting full SATA600 speeds with the M4's.

You can try to do downgrade to BIOS F.20.

What was added with F.22, anyone know?

(And also where to get F.20)

It worked (though not actually getting great write performance with the 520 for some reason). Wonder why they did that?

So the M4 256 works fine in the 6360b?
