    Greetings all,

I have an Probook HP 6455B, i am experiencing the black screen. Ill list the things that i have done to rule out that i haven't done them at all yet.

    1. I have taken out the battery, drained it for 60 secs. It came back on, after i put the cord back in and it ran fine for an hour and i handed it off to my wife and it went Black Screen again, never to come up again.

    2. Ive cleaned out the dust from all areas, including under the keyboard, fans etc. Ive taken the HD out, put it back in, ive taken the memory out cleaned it up, still no change. Ive tried multiple different Laptop cords that i have, no change. Also, i cant feel the HD spinning either, i have no indication to go on or how to go on if it is good or bad and i have no other way to test that, unless someone can give me a way.

    3. Also hooked up external monitor to the laptop port, nothing has changed and no screen on it either.

When i start it, it starts up fine from what i can tell all the lights are moving as they are suppose to, the indicator lights on the front which include 4 indicators, the furthest one to the right is the HD light, it is Amber all the time, i cant feel the HD spinning but the fans and everything else is coming up.

Would a dead HD create a black screen, not even showing the CMOS or anything like that? However, in placing flashlight up to the screen in dark, it would appear that i saw the logo. But, from my understanding their is no inverter board on this and iam not inclined to believe it is the screen itself unless someone can tell me otherwise? I know because my own laptop, had something of a similar problem and it need the MB baked to reseed it and it works fine now.

Any help would be grateful, thank you in advance.
