    Will this upgrade work?
As I know it have 900p screen and cable is same (40 pin) for those 2 screens, so it should work. But i am not 100% sure...

What's important is whether or not the cable you currently have is dual-channel lvds or not, but if your current screen is 900p, it already should be.
    So yea, it should work.
Make sure the screen you get has the connector in the same position as your current screen.

    thanks,
Is this general story- for example, 6540b or 6550b with hd+ screen to upgrade to 1080p without cable replacement?

I'm interested too if this will work? I was going to buy Elitebook or M6600 due to good built quality display, but if there is an option to swap not so good display in ProBook for something good so for me there is no point for buing twice more expensive laptop. Will this display fit:

I have a HP ProBook 4730s. I also try to find a replacement for its screen. I found a man who managed to replace the screen to a higher quality! Link. Here is the screen itself. What do you think about this? Perhaps someone has already had the experience of replacing the screen on the ProBook 4730s?
