    Hi,
I just ordered a M3000M mxm type B on eBay for 70$ and it says it is compatible with Dell and HP. Do I need to change anything software-wise or is it a plug and run install ? I have a non DC display btw.
    Thanks

You will probably have to use your old x-bracket, unless the new card also comes with a sutiable one.
To get the x-bracket off the old card, heat up the glue from the bottom side of the card with a strong hairdryer,
and loosen the bracket by carefully pushing it downwards with a blunt object which fits to the screw threads from the top,
alternating between the holes until the glue creaks and the bracket comes off. You can also partially drive in a longer screw and push the bracket downwards that way, which is probably safer. Careful though that you dont bend the card too hard in the process. Take your time and go back and forth between all holes. Then it's just a case of inf-modding the driver to the correct strings/disable driver signature enforcement to get the driver to install.

Thanks a lot ! I received help on an older thread, but I didn't know about how to remove the X bracket. The new one doesn't come with one so I'll have to remove it. Appreciate !

You can remove X bracket by using screwdriver to push through hole on all 4 corners.

It is simply sticky, so with adequate push, you can pull him off from other side.

    Sorry for poor English.

You will need MOD DRIVER. Search this forum and you will find him.
