Hello to all! This is my first post so I will try to make it painless as possible. I currently own a HP Probook 6460b with a i5 2410m, 8GB RAM and the lower resolution screen the 14.0-inch diagonal LED-backlit HD anti-glare (1366 x 768 resolution) and I was curious if I can upgrade the screen to the 14.0-inch diagonal LED-backlit HD+ anti-glare (1600 x 900 resolution)? It was a option when being ordered. If anyone can help me answer this I would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a link to the options that were offered by HP on this model:

EDIT: What is the highest processor I can upgrade to in this model with out creating a oven?

Thanks again for any help :hi2:

    http://h20628.www2.hp.com/km-ext/kmcsdirect/emr_na-c03253774-1.pdf

Pages 1 and 94 for supported processors.
Pages 29 to 30 for motherboards. At a quick glance, all motherboards support all processors.
Page 37 for list of display panels.

Especially note 6a&6b, display cable kit. You need the HD+ version, otherwise display doesn't work properly.

I noticed there is only one cable for the LVDS (screen) although there are two different cables for the web cam that differ according to the display being installed. Correct me if I am wrong on this.

    Thanks

Cables 6a and 6b are sold as a kit. Two kits for each laptop type, one for both lcd type.

I'd guess there's two types of LCD cable and three types of Webcam cables. That would total the six different kits listed.
That cable will be the cheapest part in this project :)

That being said, will my current video cable will work with the HD+ screen being they are both 40 pin connectors? But, would I need to purchase the web cam cable to be compatible with the new screen? I really appreciate all your help KLF.

They are physically same connectors but only part of the lines are actually connected on the HD panel cable. HD+ and FHD have fully connected cables. There should not be any other differences.

Of course you can try the old cable first, you will notice right away if colors are off etc.
