    Hello,

I'm thinking about buying a used HP 8570W and most of them state that Bios password is unknown. The unit I'm looking at would need either an internal or external optical drive added. Would the fact that the seller does not know the password for the Bios be a deal-breaker?

If it's under warranty, HP support might be able to help if you can present stuff like original proof of purchase. Something that a legit owner would include with the sale, of course.

The legit owner could also tell you the bios password or remove it. Are original accessories included or do they come with 3rd party power supplies? ;)

I'd stay away from such laptop unless I needed spare parts.

Also forum rules state that password cracking and related activity is not allowed here, so assistance will not be provided. :)
