Why would HP not include this? Its pretty much become the standard now and is included on almost every consumer model. My mom is looking for a work computer which will also be used around the house. I like HP design but hate the glossy finishes so I looked at their business line but no HDMI is a huge dissappointment...Dell Latitude E-Class it is.

Consumer models are consumer models and businesses still use very, very old projectors. I'm glad that they at least included DP.

P.s. You can use a DP to HDMI cable

why the hell should we have to use an adapter on something that should be standard technology in 2012...
I'm guessing the DP port doesn't output audio making it useless for outputting to a tv. Already placed an order on the Latitude and 2 OptiPlex desktops.

    Funny.
My Displayport does work quite nicely with the HDMI Adapter and yes, even with sound. What a surprise.

LoneRobin, do you know the specs of the Displayport?
If not, have a look at DisplayPort - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Compare to a pure HDMI - and have a laugh at something soooooo 2002 like HDMI ;)

Probooks have HDMI out. It's only Elitebooks that chose DP instead of HDMI.

DP can support up to 2560x1600 pixels compare to HDMI which is limited to 1920x1200. Elitebook models with ATI graphics can support at least 3 display outputs so HP should have included display port, VGA and HDMI if space is available.
