I just noticed that HP is now selling the ZBook 15u G3. 9 configurations, ranging from $1,099 to $1,899. First units are estimated to ship in 11 days.

It's a bit odd that HP puts these machines up for order and doesn't notify customers immediately--but oh well, I guess that's why we all keep hitting F5 over and over again :)

Here is the product page for the ZBook 15u G3. Also oddly, it is bolted onto the HP 14" G2 page.
    http://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/workstations/workstation-ultrabooks.html

And here are the direct links to the 9 SKU variations for the ZBook 15u G3, in incremental model/price order. Two of them are Windows 10 duplicates of the Windows 7 ("downgrade from Win10 righs") models. There seem to be varying qualities of FHD displays as well.

The most interesting ones are the V1P5OUT (with the faster Core i7-6600U processor) and the V1H66UT (with the UHD 4K display). I assume that HP will probably add a customizable option too at which point you should be able to get the fastest CPU, biggest drive and UHD 4K display in one configuration.

    Finally!

For the models with the FHD display, watch out that some of them have:
    15.6" diagonal LED-backlit FHD SVA eDP anti-glare (1920 x 1080)
...which is not an IPS display. Find my thoughts of that display in our HP EliteBook 850 review. It's average at best. I wouldn't recommend it for audio/video work, or anything where color accuracy matters.

    The more expensive models have:
    39,6 cm (15.6") diagonal LED-backlit FHD UWVA IPS eDP anti-glare + PSR (1920 x 1080)

That is an IPS display, and a good one at that. The $1,549 and up models have it.

Edit: HP needs to get their pictures straight. If you look at the main page, the 15u has a number pad: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/products/workstations/product-detail.html?oid=8693764
Yet if you look at any of the individual models, they don't have a number pad. Okay ...

It looks like CDW has some of the ZBook 15U models listed (with 2 week lead time) at a ~5% discount. Search for your PN; here's the $1899 model.
    https://www.cdw.com/shop/products/HP-SB-ZBOOK-15U-G3-I7-6500U-256GB/3958084.aspx?pfm=srh

And they have what appears to be a really high end 15U with 500GB HDD and 32GB RAM, PN T9L58US#ABA, for almost $3700.

    -------------------------------------------

Both Zones.com and CDW are also listing what they call a ZBook 15S (S, not U) with Core i7-6700 and 16GB of RAM for a whopping $3572-$3625. HP PN W0B34US#ABA
    https://www.cdw.com/shop/products/HP-ZBOOK-15S-G3-I7-6700-512GB-16GB/3961053.aspx?pfm=srh
    http://www.zones.com/site/product/i...sionGUID=54953700-21ed-bbe2-bad4-97a7d5661d53

And they're listing what CDW is advertising as a ZBook 15 G3, with Core-i7 and 512GB store and 16GB RAM. For almost $5000.
