Hey guys. Anyone had issues with their Zbook 14 as far as charging goes? I started having problems at work the last month and a half. I'd be working and sometimes in a full screen app, not seeing my battery life plummet to zero, and after an hour or two the laptop would die, or tell me its about to die. I had it plugged in the whole time so I was confused, and started playing around with the plug, noticing the charge light wasn't always on. So, tried a different A/C cord, same issue. Tried a few chargers, same issue... eventually, I could spin the plug in the socket and it would charge, but now its just bricked, can't get the "sweet spot" for more than a fraction of a second.

I checked the plug with my flashlight, and the gold contacts have some black oxidation on them, so that may be the issue, or so I thought. A bit of cleaner and a q-tip, still no-joy.

The bright side: I have a warranty. And, I guess some doctors still do house calls. An HP service tech is coming to my house today with the parts in tow, to either replace the adapter or the port. I'll keep everyone updated on what happened here, but honestly, I don't abuse this machine, not sure how the port failed on me.

    Cheers,

    Nick

It is good that you are in a position to use your warranty. This post would be useful if you post it on zbook owner's lounge.
