When I boot my 8440W that I received on Wednesday, it takes a long time to give the successful post Beep when I have the SD card installed.

It will flash the LED in sets of 5, but eventually boot.

If I have the SD card removed, it boots normally.

SD card is a 16GB AData that I've had since I bought an EEE 701 back in 2008. It has no problems being read in Windows, there are no events in the event log.

The 8440W does this whether or not SD card is set to be bootable.

    Any thoughts?

It looks to just be an issue with this particular SD card. I've put in a 4GB and 16GB MicroSDHC card, formatted as NTFS or FAT32, and haven't had this issue.

Strange...but no big deal. I don't even use these cards...they're mostly there to fill the holes.

    Try changing the boot order.

Maybe 1st: CD, 2nd: Hard Drive, 3rd: USB, etc.
or 1st: Hard Drive, 2nd: CD, 3rd: USB, etc.

Or instead, use a "microSD to SD adapter" to fill the empty SD slot (which I do with mines).
