so my laptop battery finally gave up its ghost so time for a new one.
i tried 3 new batteries for denaq and i could not charge them at all (amber charge light would come on for 10-15 min and no light thereafter) tried "false peak" troubleshooting methods and their tech could not solve my problem.
ok, i said to myself. maybe they used cheap logic boards.
tried a new battery from laptopbatteryone and i got the same result.
i guess at this point, i am going to bite the bullet and try a new hp pb992a?
has anyone experienced what i am experiencing now?
btw, i bought a new ac adapter.
could hp's "fast charging technology" be at fault? maybe this tech only works with hp batteries?
any thoughts?

I bought an NC8430 off eBay that had the same problem. The laptop would only run when plugged in. I bought a new battery for it and even though it had a partial charge, as soon as I unplugged the laptop it would just shut off. I suspected a bad power supply. Of course I returned it and bought another nc8430 that has no problems.

I would try an official HP battery. I once bought a generic el-cheapo battery for my nw8440 (workstation nc8430), and it had a tendency to lose the electrical connection to the laptop whenever I moved the laptop. It also didn't fit very well in the machine to begin with. My offical HP battery doesn't have any of those issues.
One thing you could try doing is taking the battery out, holding the power button down for 30 seconds, then putting the battery back in, then charging it.
help! hp nc8430 battery issue
