Hi - i'm proud owner of HP ProBook 4510s & i want to upgrade it to give it that little bit of speed boost.

Do i increase the RAM from 2GB to higher ? If so, how much more extra 2 or 4 ?
Is there anything else i can do to increase the speed.

I use it heavily as i have heaps of applns, some running simultanouesly, like Photoshop, Corel, MS Office.
I find that its slows down when i use Photo editing S/Ws.

    Thanks.

Well I would check if the operating system is 32bit or 64bit before upgrading the ram. I see that HP ProBook 4510s comes with Intel Core 2 Duo T6570 2.1ghz 800mhz FSB you could replace it with a faster core 2 duo(2.8ghz+).

Their isn't much to upgrade that computer because the graphics card X4500m HD is very slow.

My advice is sell that computer and buy a faster system with intel core i3,i5,i7, nvidia/ati graphics, 4gb+ or a used HP Elite book(eg 1920x1200, HP Elitebook, Core 2 duo 2.8ghz, 4GB, Nvidia quadro FX 770) 240$ free shipping of eBay.

    Thanks Folks.

I thought it wasn't possible to replace the Processor since it is in-built into the MB. But only upgrading the RAM from 2GB to 8GB
