    I don't think so because maybe the BIOS could be saying it does not know it even if hardware and so on are compatible

    but if it dose not depend on BIOS it may work

    Unless the new wifi card is in HP's whitelist, you'll also need an unwhitelisted bios from here to avoid the error-104 unsupported wifi card bios halt.
