    hey all,

so i seem to have strange sound issues with my probook 4330s.

i didnt notice it before because i used the laptop speakers but now that i plugged in headphones i can hear intermitten fuzz.

its sounds like faint white noise but it could almost sound like a ground hum or something (old hp mobos were not grounded and thus you got this horrible hum with audio if it was plugged into the wall). the music or whatever im listening to still plays but the hum/fuzz comes in and out.

i tried updating audio drivers and nothing. tried both on battery and plugged in and same thing.

i disable the drivers and i can still hear the noise, just not amplified. i re-enable drivers, noise gets amplified. it doesnt seemed to be linked with anything i do, i tried shutting down programs, starting stuff, nothing. just randomly happens. about very 4-5 seconds for 4-5 seconds

anyone else have this issue or can test by throwing on some headphones?

    thx for the link limerro.
but sadly, my problems are different.
i dont have the hp power assistant installed (clean install win7)
but i tried to install the suggested versions of hp power assistant to test and still the same thing.
im using dpc latency checker now and i do get the odd spike about every 4 mins but my audio hum is not linked to that.

after disabling and re-enabling pretty much everything, i figured out what is causing the audio hum.

its my touchpad. if i dont use it, no hum but as soon as i touch the pad or the buttons, i get the sound for a bout 2-3 seconds.

i tried uninstalling the synaptics drivers and its still there. the only solution is a mouse.

    how crazy frustrating is that!!

guess im gonna call hp support today :(

EDIT: the wireless card is causing my occasional spike. .
