    hi i have a hp NC8230 and when i start the laptop up its no worries at all but after about 10 minutes the screen goes stupid and the same is when i connect it to a external monitor no difference any ideas, look at picture gives you idea of what it does. screen.JPG

    You said the problem also occurs with an external monitor? In that case it's most likely a failing or overheating GPU. Is the fan running hard when this happens? If you're lucky, you may just need to clean out the vents. There's a program that can monitor the internal temperatures of your notebook called HWMonitor; go ahead and download it, and post screenshots of HWMonitor both before and after the graphics glitch occurs, if you could.

    thanks will check but i know the vents are all clear as i checked them no dust or dirt in it ata all so ill try the program.
