I was hoping someone could help me out... I have a DM4 and have an issue that when I unplug my laptop it the refresh rate goes down to 40hz. I know it's a driver issue, but I just can't remember which driver is best. Anyone have any display driver recommendations?

Can you please tell if all the Windows 8 x64 drivers are compatible with Windows 8.1 x64?
Does anyone have Windows 8.1 pro fully up and running on his DM4?

    Thanks!

Edit: I guess nobody is reading this.
    "Only" problems I have are:
    1) I was able to install AMD drivers and have switchable graphics working, but britness control was not working when switched to external GPU. So I tried update drivers and I lost switchable graphics. Only the Intel is working. I completely removed all the drivers and tried to reinstall with no luck.
---> This is now fixed! Using "Driver Fusion" I deleted every driver for Intel + AMD, and installed the drivers found on the first page here, in Windows 7 compatibility mode. It works perfect, even changing brightness. Never ever I will touch this

    2) I can't get the Fingerprint Reader to work. Some drivers issues.

    Hey everyone,

I recently performed a clean install of Windows 7 on my HP dm4-1046tx. I managed to get most of my drivers from the official HP website, but I encountered several issues while trying to download the ATI driver. I would get a successful install message, with some errors- but no error log. Like, it wouldn't prompt me to restart or anything, but it would say it was a successful install with some errors.

After going through the thread I think I the problem lies with the Intel HD Graphics I also have on my computer? I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to guide this driver novice to remove the Intel Graphics Driver and obtain the ATI switcheable graphics. Thanks a ton!

I had to use a download manager to install my other drivers btw, since I was getting another error message while downloading them.

At the moment, my computer currently functions like how other computers would with the graphic card set to power-saving. I need the switcheable option in order for me to activate high-performance mode. I would really be grateful if anyone could help me!

Indeed it does. You can use everything from this thread, but when it comes to graphics you have to decide if you want performance or stability. If you want performance you should go with leshcat's 14.4 v2.2 (after unpacking install the 2559 intel driver, and not the default 2993).
If you want stability you can use the official hp driver from this thread (has to be installed through device manager followed by installing ccc through the installer which you have to run in compatibility mode for windows 7)

Using leshcat's driver will give you the newest official amd driver (that still has support for fixed switching) and therefore a lot better performance in games if you are a gamer. The downside is that you wont have brightness control when you are on the amd card

Using the official driver works just as it would on windows 7.

Edit: just to clearify something. I can see that VonCrisp below interpreted my post like the 2559 driver is to be chosen due to performance. The reason why you would choose 2559 and not the default 2993 is because only 2559 has working wakeup from sleep.

    F.Mike here from leshcatlabs:

14.4 2.2 is indeed an option for Windows 8.1 and all points that ylle4 mentioned are correct. Personally I have little experience in performance differences between 2559 and 2993 but I trust ylle4's word!

We have one user running an Envy 14 1xxx and he is currently in the process of trying to get 14.8 (unmodded) running on his laptop. 14.8 should enable dynamic switching (without the need to change anything in the BIOS), but his laptop gets stuck in a reboot loop.

If anyone with any Envy 14 does try 14.8 it would be appreciated if they post their experiences!

Hello! Can somebody please re-upload the unlocked F26 BIOS with the removed wifi whitelist? The MediaFire link above seems to be inaccessible.
