Just a heads up: The Windows 7 64-bit driver for the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator for Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family version 8.15.10.1883 A (sp45422), which is posted on HP's dv3t-2000 CTO Windows 7 64-bit drivers page here, appears to break all screen brightness controls (within Windows and by keyboard controls) and is stuck at maximum brightness, at least in Windows 7 RC1.

Edit: The driver downloaded from Intel as posted in this thread (15.15.6.64.1892) works flawlessly compared to the one currently posted on HP's dv3t-2000 drivers page (8.15.10.1883 A sp45422).

    edit:

    1st try:
install of v2.7.3.519 over v2.7.2.0 went smoothly but remote did not work.
    so went back to v2.7.2.0.

    2nd try:
uninstalled v2.7.2.0 from control panel (uninstall programs)

went to device manager--human interface devices--Microsoft eHome Infrared Transceiver and uninstalled it. (did not restart)

ran the setup for v2.7.3.519 and restarted. checked remote and it works :D

    searched for ene cir v2.7.4.0
    found it here: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp44501-45000/sp44983.exe
ran setup and restarted. remote still works.

    so im on v2.7.4.0 now.

    apologies for any misunderstandings.

Congratulations on getting v2.7.4.0 working. Based on your procedure, what I'll do is re-post v2.7.4.0 but mention uninstalling all previous versions first. :)

    Edit:
Some updates to the original post. Like I said, I re-posted version 2.7.4.0 of the ENE CIR Receiver driver. The new driver will hopefully work as long as all previous versions of the driver are removed first. A system restart is also recommended after installation of the driver. New Intel graphics drivers are also available and includes the Intel HDMI audio driver -- do not install the Intel graphics packages if you have an NVIDIA graphics card.

    10/09/2009
    • Added Wacom Touch Screen driver version 3.0.7.2 A.
    • Re-posted ENE CIR Receiver driver version 2.7.4.0.
    • Updated Intel GMA drivers to version 14.38.10(.64).5132 (6.14.10.5132) for Windows XP and version 15.15.6(.64).1892 (8.15.10.1892) for Windows 7.

Yes, TouchSmart is the feature that HP names its touch-screen enabled desktop and notebook computers. It usually comes with TouchSmart software, which is built in to MediaSmart.

New Broadcom Wireless LAN drivers are now available, now officially compatible with Windows 7. Please let me know if you experience problems with these drivers since I am unable to test them given my notebook's configuration.

    10/15/2009
    • Updated Broadcom Wireless LAN drivers to version 5.60.18.9 for Windows XP and version 5.60.18.8 for Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Two updates -- MediaSmart MVP version 3.0 for Windows 7 as well as updated TV tuner drivers (explanation below). Almost every driver/software listed on the original post is now compatible with Windows 7, most of them officially designated as such. :D The MediaSmart 3.0 suite is now posted in its entirety (with the exception of SlingPlayer).

    10/17/2009
    • Updated MediaSmart MVP to version 3.0.3123 for Windows 7.
    • Renamed "HP Integrated Analog/Digital TV Tuner" to "HP ATSC/Analog TV Tuner, HP DVB-T/Analog TV Tuner."
    • Updated HP ATSC/Analog TV Tuner, HP DVB-T/Analog TV Tuner driver to version 1.3.0.76 for Windows Vista/7 x86 and version 1.3.64.76 for Windows Vista/7 x64.

The original post has since been updated to more reflect the names of the actual TV tuner hardware in use. This new TV tuner driver supports multiple AVermedia products, namely the following: A317, A316, A309, and A328 -- the A317 and A316 are likely the TV tuners that are integrated into the notebooks, thus I only posted the driver version numbers for these two. Please let me know how this driver is working for you -- I cannot test this since I don't have an integrated TV tuner in my notebook. Don't install this if your notebook does not have an integrated TV tuner provided by HP.

(Off-topic, but a fun fact which I also mentioned in the other driver threads: Based on documentation, the four AVermedia TV tuners listed above are code-named after current and former American TV game show hosts -- Richard Dawson, Bob Barker, Pat Sajak, and Richard Karn, respectively. :D)

Two noticeable changes right off the bat with F.12 A:
-It now shows the new blue circle HP logo when you power on. Very cool.
-The fan no longer blasts at full speed for a couple of seconds when you first power on.

It doesn't looks like it suffers from the dark color flickering issue that F.07 A had. So far, so good.

An update for notebooks with LightScribe-enabled drives.

    10/25/2009
    • Updated LightScribe System Software to version 1.18.9.1 (thanks Biker321).

@razzac and luke49: Did Microsoft Update provide you with any IDT audio drivers? Perhaps it would be best to install the ones that it provides. Could you also provide the Hardware IDs for your sound device? I will look into it once I receive this info and see if the original post needs to be updated accordingly.

You should not have to install specific drivers for your disc drive. You should be able to use the generic Windows drivers and get full functionality out of it.

Although I'm not completely sure, you may need to use a third-party software program to read or play certain formats. This includes the Blu-Ray disc format.

You can always try the IDT High Definition Audio drivers that HP had provided and see if it solves the problem.

    Version 6.10.6146.0 (Windows Vista)
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-69554-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us

Version 6.10.6225.0 (Windows 7, but may also work on Vista?)
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-75504-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us

I'm beginning to think there may be something wrong with the IDT drivers that I have up on the original post -- maybe they're just not compatible with this series.

Thanks to lovegl as the first user to point out a handful of MediaSmart updates.

    11/06/2009
    • Updated MediaSmart DVD to version 3.0.3309 for Windows 7.
    • Updated MediaSmart Live TV to version 3.0.2118 for Windows 7.
    • Updated MediaSmart Webcam to version 3.0.2018 for Windows 7.
    • Updated MediaSmart MVP to version 3.0.3316 for Windows 7.

If you noticed on the original post, I have begun organizing the driver entries into a table-based format. This allows the original post to contain more useful information, as suggested by the users here on NBR. It is not yet finished, but it should be complete soon.

I'm also announcing that future updates to the original post will be phasing out Windows XP drivers due to the fact that it is no longer in mainstream support (and now, Windows 7 has been released). In the future, users who still need Windows XP drivers can simply post in this thread for a request, and a link if one exists will be provided in subsequent reply posts.

    Hello All

the link for latest BIOS 12.A
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45493.exe

doesn't exist anymore. Do anyone know how to obtain the latest BIOS update?

I recently have USB problem in My CQ35-243TX :(

All USB port cannot detect my USB mouse and USB Modem, but USB Storage are working fine. And my laptop is always slightly hot EVENTHOUGH I turn off the laptop! I use Windows 7 ultimate. Does anyone know what is wrong with my laptop? Does it have something to do with the BIOS??

    Thx for all your help

Thanks, will take a look at them. :)

And HP makes my life harder once again...they decided to take down the BIOS release. I'll be removing the BIOS from the original post then...thanks for notifying. :)

As for the USB issue, did you try running the Intel Chipset Device Software? Follow the setup instructions that I posted -- this will guarantee that the USB drivers will get updated and can hopefully fix the issues with the keyboard and mouse.

Thx for your response. I already solved it by removing the battery for a while, then plug it again. It looked like they were still running process in USB module although I already turn off the laptop. The only way to stop it was to remove the battery. But I will try to run Intel Chipset Device Software too as you suggest, to make sure it wont happen again in the future :)

Newer Intel GMA drivers are now up on the original post. If your notebook has an NVIDIA graphics card, do not install this. Thanks dynamius.

    Hi to all,
I'm a new member here from Italy and I'm owner of a HP dv3-2150el (Moonlight Imprint).
First of all I want to thank justinkw1 and all other members for the great help you gave me when I decided to install a new copy of Windows 7 Professional and I looked for new Win7 drivers.

Unfortunately when I removed Windows Vista, I didn't save a copy of HP wallpapers given as default from HP. So now I ask you if you can post a copy of them.
I looked for them in HP/Compaq Desktop Wallpaper but Moonlight Imprint Wallpaper has a worse quality respect to the one I had. Maybe it's due to a further compression applied when they put it on the website.

@John85: The Moonlight Imprint wallpaper that I have is the one that is in the HP/Compaq desktop wallpaper thread -- sorry. :(

For everyone: I updated the original post to reflect the new Realtek driver releases.

    11/21/2009
    • Updated Realtek PCIe Gigabit Ethernet Family Controller driver to version 7.009 for Windows 7.

It's a little strange 'cause when I fit Moonlight Imprint to full screen it shows a lot of noise, expecially near the stripes. My old wallpaper did't have this problem. By the way it's not a big problem :)

About the new video drivers from Nvidia, I tried them but when I try to execute Konami's ProEvolutionSoccer, Windows 7 advises me about an error and exit without run the game.

I came back to previous stable and good release

    Hi,

I'm trying to update my chipset drivers to the one specified in the thread. To run it with the overall parameter would I have to go into cmd and type in the file location(leaving the file as is), then -overall? Or, how would I extract the the setup.exe file? And after the file is extracted, then i put that into the cmd? Sorry if its a stupid question, I tried to google it, but ended up unsuccessful. Thanks

What you extract is the file that you downloaded from Intel's website (yes, you extract an exe). Then, you run the setup.exe file located in the extracted contents, with the -overall parameter in CMD or in the Run command window. You do not need to extract the setup.exe file.

For example: if you extracted the contents of the downloaded file to the path C:\IntelSetup, you can go to the Run command window (Windows key + R) and type in "C:\IntelSetup\setup.exe -overall" (without the quotes). This should get things going.

Thanks to Wanderermy and jondm1 for notifying me about this. :)

    • Updated HP Quick Launch Buttons to version 6.50.8.1.

@Wanderermy: At this time, I don't have plans to create a driver thread for the dm3 series. There are a few components in the dm3 that I do not track the drivers for (they are different). If there's enough dm3 users, I'll consider it.

    @justinkw1

Do you have any idea why did HP removed their bios update F12A? Fortunately I already downloaded it before, and flashed my bios in my CQ35-109TU and no problems encountered, running smoothly. And to my suprise that bios update contains SLIC 2.1, thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't know why HP removed this BIOS update. You'd probably have to ask HP why it was removed, and I don't think most of them there would know either! :D

Hopefully a new BIOS revision will be released soon.

Yeah, I hope they release it soon. But that's strange, in their Compaq website they only removed the BIOS update in the CQ35 series
