Lol will not install them until someone else.
Remember the problem with installer?
Did you tried the installer or did again a manually update?
-
I installed the new BT driver. Removed the previous version first and it installed OK.
-
That Bluetooth driver is for Windows Vista x86/x64. No, I did not install it because I have Windows 7.

I will test this driver when it comes available. Keep your fingers crossed!

Thanks for being the front man!
-
Dodged a bullet, Alan?

-
I missed that. Installed it on W7 by mistake. Appeared to install OK anyway, however, uninstalled it now. I don't really use BT atm. Will reinstall the proper driver when it becomes available.
-
Most Vista drivers work fine in Windows 7 but I only install them if there's no updated driver available written for Windows 7. I'm surprised that you didn't notice that it was for Vista before installing it, Peter.
Regards,
- - Phil -
Ok guys, I installed Broadcom Bluetooth 6.3.0.6300 and it went in smoothly ontop of previous version. Install took a while to complete, and after a restart all seems to be working as expected. Device Manager shows driver version 6.3.0.6060.
-
I'll update the first post for all the current driver threads as soon as I have the time. I'm pretty spread thin at the moment.
I have not tried this new Bluetooth driver yet but I will once things settle down a bit. -
Broadcom WLAN 5.100.57.8 (08/19/2010) driver available at Acer.
This driver supports Windows XP/Vista/7 x86/x64. Version number is not latest, but driver is latest dated.

Any idea what this release offers as improvements that would justify installing it?
(Just asking since I don't blindly update drivers for hardware that works fine with original drivers on my 12/09 DV8) -
I thought you now have an Intel wireless adapter?
-
You know I have more than one laptop and am certainly curious as to what benefits it offers, Peter. (I guess I referenced my DV8 from habit)
Have you nothing responsive to offer regarding the issue?
Regards,
- - Phil -
Nope, got nothing responsive to your question as I don't use that particular driver and don't normally look at change logs of drivers that don't apply to my machine.
-
Yeah ... I didn't figure you did ...
I hope someone else will post something useful about it.
Regards,
- - Phil
-
Have this issue also with nvidia drivers:
Board Message -
Good question... Since there's no change log available for this driver, I can't really tell if it improves anything. I have Atheros WLAN, so I can't install it and test. I doubt there's anything major improvements and Justin won't put it in the first page. You just have to try it yourself to find out... or not...

Hey folks,
I started this thread in the wrong forum so am trying again here. I have a dv7t that shipped with windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I upgraded via a legit disc I bought through my school to windows 7 pro 64 bit. The TV tuner card will not work. The HP techs say this is because the driver only works for home premium, not for pro. Has anyone had this problem and more importantly, has anyone found a solution (or driver that works). Below I've posted the specs. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
HP Pavilion dv7t Quad Edition customizable Notebook PC (dv7t-3000)
• Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (shipped with home - upgrade to Professional)
• Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-720QM Processor (1.6GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB)
HP Integrated HDTV Hybrid Tuner
Device Manager says:
HP ATSC/Analog TV Tuner
AverMedia Technologies
PCI bus 4
Driver version is 1.3.64.76 (I've tried a driver an Aver tech sent me and one an HP tech sent me..neither worked)
Hardware Ids:
PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&SUBSYS_10551461&REV_03
PCI\VEN_1131&DEV_7160&SUBSYS_10551461

Thanks!

Remove all tv tuner drivers and scan for any leftover files and registry etries with Ccleaner. Remove tv tuner from device manager. Restart Windows and let it scan for new hardware and install drivers again.
-
I had the same issue with Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a clean install of my HDX18; here's what I did... if you can see everything has no issues in Device Manager, try setting up the tuner in Windows Media Center - for some reason, the HP Media (not so) Smart TV tuner software refused to see the digital portion of my tuner card, but WMC saw both analog and digital, and I can watch everything through the Windows Media Center, once the tuner does its initial search for channels. (In my case, I tried the latest drivers found in this thread.) To this day, I'm still not able to use the HP software, but I don't need it anymore.
Hope this helps - let us know what you find out. -
SaltyDog! I made some headway...huge headway in that Media Center recognized the card. I tried Media Center before..this time I didn't download the guide and it picked it up an analog tuner. I think I have a hybrid digital/analog tuner so I'll keep tweaking it. For now I'm transferring some old VHS tapes and it's working like a charm so I'm stoked. Thanks a million for the suggestion.

Can anyone confirm that the Intel WiFi Link for Windows 7 64-bit is working?
I tried installing it on my computer and it says it cannot be installed. Something related to my system or something.
I've searched Google for the exact file name (INTEL_MULTI-DEVICE_A01_R250538.exe) and somehow it seems to be related with a Hard Drive update.
Any help?
Thanks in advance. -
I installed the MediaSmart DVD for Windows 7 to version 4.1.4229 (4.1 C1) software but twice got the compatibility error saying the software was not compatible with this version of windows "win 7".. when I opened the program and looked at the version number it appears to have updated... don't know why I get the error.
-
I didn't get that error when I installed it.
-
Humm... got me.... Broadcom 2070 Bluetooth driver package to version 6.3.0.6300 and NVIDIA graphics driver to version 8.17.12.5947 (259.47) installed just fine.
btw. my 3D scores did not change with the new driver... performance score went up .1 point on graphics. -
I installed it without any error messages, either, Alan.
FWIW, I installed it with my fingers crossed (and a full image clone by Ghost). It installed and works just fine. Just lucky I guess. (In case you're wondering about why I tried the install, I try to keep the HP MediaSmart software up-to-date though I am not likely to install most driver updates).
Run Chkdsk/f lately?

Link didn't work. Maybe HP removed or moved it.

You updated a driver?.... Well Hallelujah Bless my Soul!... LOL!
Yep.. ran chkdsk /f and all is well.... oh well. -
It seems it's not uploaded to hp ftp server yet. If this 4.x version of Wireless Assistant refuses to install, then i thinks it's meant for later models than in this thread and you should stay with 3.x versions.
-
Version 4.x of the Wireless Assistant is for newer models (dv6 Gen 3, dv7 Gen 4, Envy) and they don't work with these notebooks. I originally thought 4.x worked too until I actually tried to install it myself.
-
No Hallelujahs yet, Alan, since no drivers were updated AFAICT.
All I had done was uninstall the HP DVD s/w and install the updated s/w. (after, of course, the usual Chkdsk/f and clone using Ghost 11.5 on the free Hiren's BootCD)
Sorry, chkdsk/f didn't resolve your incompatibility with Win 7 message.

Windows 7 / Vista x86 :: Release notes :: Read Me -
The Win7 Driver Version is 13.3.0.24. Only Vista has 13.3.0.137.
-
Driver Version 13.3.0.137 will be installed for the following products:
-Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
-Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
-Intel® WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350
I note that that update is apparently not applicable to the Intel N6200 AGN wi fi adapter. So if you have that card in your machine, as I do, that's why it may not update the driver. -

I wouldn't update my driver for my 6200 AGN unless the driver APPLIED to my model AND fixed or improved something that I was having a problem with.
Regards,
- - Phil -
I think I may have heard that a few times before.
-
The principle, yes, but the application to this particular device (6200 AGN WiFi) not so often.
Regards,
- - Phil -
That's right.
-
I"m going to try these... I bought a N router and I actually get much better distance when using 2.4 than 5.2... both seem to get the same results on speakeasy.net but 5.2 doesn't go as far "I guess thats typical" but when I within range of both 2.4 seems quicker to initiate and the browsing experience is a tad faster than 5.2... maybe these drivers will help reverse that.
Maybe I had the wrong driver loaded... I noticed the filename of the one I loaded before was "ICS_Dv64.exe"
is that a vista driver? -
Humm.. well I installed it... dated me to 7-14-10 and it also installed a "Microsoft virtual wifi miniport adapter" I didnt' have before.
I'm getting a tad faster downloads from speakeasy.net on the 5.2G now.... I suppose its an improvement or I think I had vista drivers installed before..... that could have been the issue.
