I install AMD Catalyst 15.7 in Windows 8.1 Pro. It's excellent driver
-
It would be pretty cool if we had W10 support :\
-
I did a windows update from 8.1 to 10 all drivers from hp seem to work, but the only one that is giving me a hard time is the graphics driver. I am aware of Leshcat drivers but the problem with them is that the ATI card is always running so the system gets hot. Now what I've done is i installed the 14.4 Leshcat drivers in 8.1 I updated directly from the windows update and the driver seemed to have worked in 10 but i do advised that once 10 is installed disable hardware update from windows 10. I checked with SpeedFan and it seems that the ATI driver is not active which is good because previously when using 15.7 leshcat drivers the GPU was at a constant 52 degrees Celsius. Now onto another problem because of this when you restart the system it seems to take some time for the graphics driver to start at first it might seem like the system is not responding but after a while the screen turns on, and the system functions normally this issue is also present when waking from sleep the screen stays off but after about 2 minutes the system wakes up and functions properly. Windows 10 runs great on the Dv6t, but if only we would get a proper driver from HP which I doubt we will as we never got one for Windows 8.
-
I also installed Windows 10. The graphics drivers installed from Windows 10 are working fine. Don't know about the IDT drivers, did not install them, are they working fine on Windows 10?
-
The Audio drivers I previously installed are working fine thought the driver i had was in beta here https://mega.co.nz/#!74hV2AZT!NhEvSAU7MN4GhYZRSUkczpEY5BYr_xG98PgZcbMC9iM

Hi, I found this thread a few months ago while searching for Windows 8.1 drivers for my DV6 6121tx. Many thanks to the OP for organizing all the required drivers under one thread.
I recently installed Windows 10 as the free upgrade. Now, after upgrading everthing was running okay, no driver problem at all. I didn't even require to install many drivers after a fresh format because Windows 10 provides the necessary drivers via automatic windows updates. But I still wanted the Beats audio driver and interface and the HP 3D Driveguard because these cannot be provided by windows update.
So, after installation of Beats audio drivers from here, I found that the audio effects were not working. Then, I reverted back to the original Beats audio driver by HP for Windows 7 for my laptop and it worked fine.
So, I would like to know other people's experience on Windows 10 if they have installed the driver from here. -
I just upgraded my dv7t-6000 CTO to Windows 10. I didn't install any drivers, just what Windows 10 upgraded them to. I am having a bit of an issue with waking from sleep and I suspect it is graphics related. When waking from sleep, the laptop lights illuminate; however, the screen is black and the only fix is to shut it down by holding power and powering back up.
Is there a way to get the AMD and Intel switchable graphics? My BIOS is F.1B which gives me no options in the BIOS. -
-
Paplu, which drivers are you using? If you don't mind me asking?
-
I'm using the leshcat 15.7 v1.2 driver now.
-
Yes use the leshcat drivers. With the 15.7 v1.2 the gpu is always on ulps set to 0 in regedit keeps the gpu always on. The only advantage I see to this is that windows starts up faster and also wakes up properly. If you set it to 1 its turns the gpu off but start up time is really slow and same goes for wake from sleep. What I've done instead of using the 15.7 v1.2 I'm using Catalyst 14.4 WHQL UnifL v2.4 when installing make sure you install the dynamic version of the driver with this driver everything works fine the gpu stays off avg temps of 45c and start up time is much faster, but also remember to turn of automatic windows driver updating.
-
I have a Hp 6150sl with 6770m & HD3000 and I am wasting a many days of my life trying to get a stable PC.
Can you do the manual switch between the two GPUs?
How did you install the 14.4 2.4? Did you have Fixed or Automatic setup i BIOS while installing? -
If you want a stable PC, go for dynamic mode and the latest drivers. But if you want Fixed mode, you have to use Windows 7 with 14.4 v2.2 and UBR for brightness controls and also a registry fix for sleep/wake issue. I have set to fixed mode in BIOS. BTW I have dual boot Win 7 and 10. Win 7 fixed and Win 10 dynamic.

Hi my Friends... This it's my experience
Updating http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...nvy-17-2xxx-intel.556469/page-85#post-9749109 for Windows 10 installation.
My computer it's dv6 6b04ss with: 1TB toshiba(i don't have SSDfor replace my DVD unit for a caddy, and i don't found caddy? compatible), 1 module 8GB RAM(i think to buy other), a screen upgrade to 1980x1024 (my 1333x768 was broken...), AMD 6770M 1Gb, Intel HD 3000, etc.
A. I have Bios Mod(MDL), then i install Windows 7x64 SP1 Pro (clean in a new hard disk) without internet. Install licence and key. For validation, i install driver of Realtek(7.092) for Windows 7.
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...d=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false.
I then validate in Microsoft web page. I don't install others drivers.
2. I install Windows 10 with Mediatool USB installer. I connect to Internet, but i don´t install updates previews while install
3. Finish, i search windows updates, and restart. Finally, my computer it's great Windows 10, but Windows 10 not found driver for:
A. HP Wireless Button Driver: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_123643_1 or directly: http://h30639.www3.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp63752.exe (i don't testing ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64001-64500/sp64043.html because other it's for Windows 10 and dv6).

Finish, all OK but, i continue:

E. For Graphics Intel and AMD: Windows 10 install 9.17.10.4229 (intel), and AMD 15.200.1062.1004. It's better what AMD 15.7.1 (AMD Catalyst™ Display Driver version 15.20.1062.1002), but i don't have AMD gaming evolved (not it's necesary, but it's in: http://www.amd.com/en-us/markets/game/raptr). Hydravision not exist more. Finally, I install and update to AMD 15.7.1... NOTE: I used three monitors in Windows 8.1, but i don't remember if mode fixed or dynamic. Windows 10 in dynamic mode don't work for me with three. I don't have more testing for today: http://irisclasson.com/2012/06/16/r...s-x53-x53sk-sx028v-for-two-external-monitors/. UPDATE: I test Dynamic and Fixed mode and it's equal, always switcheable graphics. Impossible AMD 6770 in exclusive (with these drivers and today configuration). Because HD3000 it's always working, don't work three monitors, but it's posible detect in Display in Control Panel. It's possible work with two external monitors, but impossible with three today.

Has anyone with an Envy 17 2000 experienced 100% HDD usage? Can anything be done to remedy this?
Does anyone have a way of using IDT without the original buggy Windows 7 IDT drivers (which also cause 100% HDD usage in Windows 10) ? -
Maybe it's this:
"How to Change System Protection Maximum Storage Size for Drive in Windows 10"

And I don't use the IDT audio card anymore, I use a portable USB DAC& (Fiio Alpen 2-E17K) and now I love to listen my music in Hi-Res audio.

This may be late for those who have moved on but those still struggling,
and to those that were looking to find working beats drivers for your dv7 / dv6 on Win10 , heres what I found working:
6.10.6495.0(20 Dec 2013)
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_127154_1
Before restarting,
Right click speaker icon in taskbar, Select Playback > Speakers (click) > Properties > Advanced > switch to 24 bit, 96000 Hz. And thats all.
Drivers installed fine, and all the speakers are alive now. -
Also Intel Rapid Storage Technology v12.8.20.1002 driver (released 6/22/2015) from sp71552.exe (for Win7/8/10 x64 only) - driver date is 5/22/2015, newer than the v12.9.x series.Last edited: Aug 8, 2016tonormal likes this. -

use https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930
use this to hide Intel driver updates , as far as i know this is the only offical way to prevent driver updates.
p.s. microsoft has changed the behavior of auto updates, it will forcibly install the last recommended signed driver now no matter the version number.tonormal likes this. -
Thanks!!! That worked fine.
Rolling back a driver. Microsoft show me a question (test with options) why I roll back driver.
After that, Windows Update says Windows is updated with driver Intel 9.17.10.4459. No more regression to 9.17.10.4229.
No need to use tool to hide/unhide updates

Hi everyone, some help would be very much appreciated
I tried everything I could to get my switchable graphic drivers working properly but I can't... I also read all your recent posts, but I'm very confused... Would someone be kind and explain step by step what's the actual procedure?
Here is my configuration:
HP DV7-6161sf
Graphics : Intel HD3000 / AMD 6490M
Windows 10 Anniversary Update
By default, in device manager, the graphic drivers are :
AMD Radeon HD 7400M Series (15.201.1151.1008) (... which isn't mine...)
Intel HD Graphics 3000 (9.17.10.4229)
OK, so far, the display works... BUT not very properly... 80% of the time, when I use the computer, the fan is very audible and the computer is too warm, only for small computer tasks... very annoying.
A clear tutorial would be very appreciate by this time !!
Thank you very much! -
it's anniversary update?Last edited: Sep 25, 2016 -
Thank you for your quick answer. Yes I'm on W10 Anniversary Update.
And here is what is noted in event panel for AMD graphic card : PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760&SUBSYS_1659103C&REV_00\4&2F8F60C0&0&0008
But I don't know what this means ??? ^^ -
C7302617.inf - win 7 (PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6740)
C0302619.inf - win 10 (PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6740)
NOTE: Create restore point preview, it's possible to go before...
Good, for 6490m (your amd graphics card) you search in c0302619.inf and found PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6760 name Vancouver (Great). Now, you have what install, with NOTE4 steps in http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...vy-17-2xxx-intel.556469/page-94#post-10339391.
In other order, the fan is very audible and the computer is too warm, only for small computer tasks... very annoying... It's maintenance time (change thermal, clean fan, etc.). View manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02842252.pdf or this http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03015537 or technical service maintenance. This it's good, but you not change display: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/guide-hp-pavilion-dv6-6xxx-screen-replacement.690125/. And these videos, in youtube: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=dv6+6090
(your model it's similar) https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=hp+pavilion+dv7-6135dx
NOTE: it's very important maintenance, because graphics card usually fail for thisLast edited: Sep 26, 2016 -
Thank you again for your time tonormal.
Well, for the maintenance, I did it several times so it's not the issue here! In fact, I made a lot of different experiences lately with the graphic drivers, and at a point, it worked well. It was last week, when I was on W10 (not anniversary) with old Leshcatlabs Catalyst from 2014... and then, everything worked fine... no more noise, but still not the right name in device manager. So I think the problem is really about the drivers and I cannot create the same with the last W10 update.
I tried today with the last leshcatlabs drivers (16.2.1) but it still don't work properly I think...
Excuse me, but I'm confused with your INF files.
1. Where do I find them?
2. How do you download the "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3, Graphics Adapter WDDM2.0 software update released in May, 2016" through Internet Explorer? I cannot see any link, only "add to basket".
3. In your clean install of the graphic drivers, do we still need the leshcatlabs drivers? -
. Good luck. Excuse me my english M.

Finally, my problem is solved and I succeed to get stable switchable graphic drivers... I spent 2 days, installing and uninstalling several times Windows in order to figure out where the problem was and finally got it! So, here is a quick tutorial which explains how I did it, hopefully, this will help someone later...
-----
NOTE:
- My laptop is DV7-6161sf with switchable graphic cards (Intel HD 3000 / AMD 6490m)
- Operating system is Windows 10 Anniversay Update (1607)
- What was the problem and the symptoms?
1. The computer was often warm and the fan very audible (which is a pitty since I remember how SILENT this laptop was when I bought it in 2011 with Windows 7...). Note : with the software Speedfan, the average temperature for the hardware (CPU/GC) is about 50-60 °C.
2. When Windows starts or wakes up after sleep mode, the screen remains black a long time before you can do anything.
For this second issue, there is one solution which I found in this thread : in regedit, set Enable_ULPS to 0.
BUT I don't advise you this method, since I found a better one
-----
PROCEDURE:
1. First, I solved this problem with a clean install of Windows 10. Maybe will it be possible to achieve this otherwise, but I will detailed what works for me, after a FULL REINSTALLATION of Windows 10.
2. IMPORTANT : disable your connection to internet during the installation, it will prevent the installation of pilots which are the source of the problem.
3. The only working drivers I found for my configuration were :
- Intel : https://catalog.update.microsoft.co...updateid=d011cb93-6861-426f-b773-540f84fbbfc0
- AMD : https://catalog.update.microsoft.co...updateid=6ba97438-fb95-46e0-9f4c-bfcd819abfa2
NOTE : I had many problems with this website... You have to "add to basket" the two drivers, but I didn't manage to open the basket after all! Apparently, the only solution is to use an old Internet Explorer version in order to navigate the website (I even install an old Windows 7 product to get the link! ... but I'm pretty sure you could find a easiest way...). When you have the 2 files, you have to extract the *.cab with Winrar.
4. After Windows installation, you'll get some generic graphic cards in device manager which we will replace with the downloaded drivers. Follow the procedure :
- a. install Intel first (In the Device manager, manually choose a local file and pick igdlh64.inf)
- b. reboot
- c. install AMD then (In the Device manager, manually choose a local file and pick C0302619.inf)
- d. reboot
- e. install ccc2_install.exe in the folder b302293 (the Catalyst Control Center by AMD)
Now, hopefully, you'll get your graphic cards working, respectively : Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 (9.17.10.4459) and AMD Radeon HD7400M Series (15.201.2901.1004), with recent pilots from 05/2016. You can note, that the computer should be silent, and no boot screen problem at all (then, no needs for Enable_ULPS trick).
5. But now, the tricky part begins... If you connect your network card and look for Updates via Windows Update, it will force the installation of new graphic drivers, which (... try to understand why...) are older! (from 2015). And those drivers are really ****... they caused all of the troubles I explained before! And if unfortunately, the AMD driver is installed, then I didn't figure out a way to remove it properly and the problems start again even if you switch after for the 2016 drivers...
So, the only way for me, was to hide the update of AMD Radeon HD7400M Series via this windows tool : wushowhide ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930)
6. Then you can do all your updates via Windows update. It will probably download all the missing drivers at the same time.
7. Unfortunately (almost done, don't worry...), during that process and no matter what you hide in wushowhide, it will change again the drivers of your Intel HD Graphics 3000 with the 2015 driver (9.17.10.4229). But as long as the AMD driver remains the one from 2016, you just have to switch for the previous pilot manually via the device manager and it will work fine again.
Well that's all... It took me A LOT of time to figure it out, but now for the first time for a long time (actually, since I left Windows 7), I have again a stable and silence laptop which works great on Windows 10! And now, the average temperature is between 40-50 °C.
And of course, thank you very much to tonormal, who considerately helped me in my researchtonormal likes this.
