Hi!
Thank you for your efforts with these driver updates.
However, and this is why I registred to warn you and your readers, the BIOS you link to does NOT work with all the computers within the range of computers you describe. I have a dv6845eo and according to HP's support pages the newest BIOS to my computer is F.58 A. When i saw your link to F.59 A I thought that HP has just been lazy updating the driver homepage to my computer and I downloaded the one you are linking to. After upgrading, I restarded my computer and... Nothing. The screen is black, the fans are running at full speed and the caps lock light is flashing constantly (without pause, so I can't read out any error codes). Also, the computer automaticly powers on as soon as the battery gets plugged in and won't turn off. Running it on A/C doesn't work at all, it doesn't even start.
I think you should remove that direct link and instead link to their support pages where you specify your computer so your readers can be sure that they get the newest (or atleast a working) BIOS just for their computer.
Also (I never got the chance to try this out before the computer broke down), according to http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Operating-systems-and-software/Windows7-Upgrade-Guide-for-dv6000-dv9000-models/td-p/179816 these drivers are version 6.10.01.03 to the Ricoh memory card reader. If you get the chance, try them out and perhaps you'd like to update your links. -
New TouchPad drivers are now available on the original post.
01/09/2010
- Updated Synaptics TouchPad driver to version 14.0.13.1.
@nielsen81: Sorry, but I do believe that the Intel-based dv6700 series (particularly your dv6845eo) actually supports the F.59 BIOS based on the chipset family that HP had designated for these notebooks (Quanta 30CC). I really think that HP did in fact forget the dv6700 generation, because they included the dv6500/dv9500/dv9700 notebooks which are very much the same. Unfortunately, I think there was a problem with the flashing process and I don't currently have much advice at the moment -- please keep us updated on the situation.
The Ricoh card reader drivers definitely need to be updated -- I hopefully will be able to get some new versions up soon. -
HP has posted the new Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver package, replacing the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. The original post has been updated to reflect this.
01/19/2010
- Changed "Intel Matrix Storage Manager" to "Intel Rapid Storage Technology."
- Added Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver version 9.5.0.1037.
-
Some major updates are now available on the original post.
01/20/2010
- Updated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator for Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family to version 15.12.75.4.64.1930 (8.15.10.1930) for Windows 7 x86 and version 15.12.75.4.1930 (8.15.10.1930) for Windows 7 x64.
- Merged Ricoh components into "Ricoh Media Card Reader (R5C83x/84x)."
- Added Ricoh Media Card Reader (R5C83x/84x) driver package version 2.13.00.05.
Please note that due to the number of driver threads I now have to manage as well as the lack of support HP now provides for these notebooks, updating this thread is going to be less of a priority. That is, this thread will now be less frequently edited and put on "hiatus." However, updates for this particular thread will still occur if something very important is released.
Thanks again to everyone who had contributed! -
02/03/2010
- Updated Ricoh Media Card Reader (R5C83x/84x) driver package to version 2.14.00.05.
- Updated HP QuickPlay/DVD Play to version 3.7.0.6908.
- Updated Synaptics TouchPad driver to version 14.0.19.0.
- Updated Broadcom Wireless LAN driver to version 5.60.48.18.

I went with the computer to the store where I bought it. HP only leaves one year warranty on this product (Sweden), and it's about 1½ years old. However, the store said it might work anyways. According to the Swedish law, we have something called the "consumer purchases act" which gives the consumer a total of 3 years to complain about a faulty product.
Within only 9 days the computer was returned with a brand new motherboard switched for free! (~350).
I can also confirm your statement that you believe F.59 should work on my computer as this motherboard have BIOS F.59.
Don't know what went wrong during the upgrade process, but everything was fixed and done very quickly & smooth by the store and HP's service partner. -
Enough changes to warrant updating the first post.

Hi guys. I tried to download the Intel Chipset Device Software from OP's first post for my dv6500, but the link seems to be dead. Could anyone please give me a new link. My 69 year old brain can't seem to find a new link! Thanks everyone!

I wish to install on my HP Pavilion DV6711 notebook computer, Windows 7 from the Retail DVD from Microsoft.
Are either 32bit or 64bit Windows 7 compatible with the DV6711 notebook? HP's site has no driver support for Windows 7 for the DV6711, and tech support basically says they wont support this, but neverless i was wondering if anyone here knows if the install will still work.
I ran the Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and it said this when trying to upgrade my Vista 32 bit:
"These devices might not work properly after the upgrade. Before upgrading, we recommend updating the drivers for these devices. Cancel the upgrade, open Control Panel and search for "update device drivers", or go to the device manufacturer's website to search for updated drivers.
Storage controllers: AUYBIGN2 IDE Controller " -
Do you have DAEMON Tools installed? If you do, it probably installed that virtual IDE controller. -
ROFL I screwed myself. This too funny! Thanks -

This thread is quite dead... -
This was my first-ever driver thread. It was created relatively late compared to when these notebooks were announced (which is why it didn't garner a whole lot of popularity compared to the ones for newer models).
I plan to do an update on the "discontinued" driver threads soon. -
