Original post updated.

- Added DigitalPersona Fingerprint Reader Software version 4.0.1.3749 (thanks dannyres).
Hmmm...I think I'll remove Essential System Updates too since Windows Vista Service Pack 2 is theoretically the new update that everyone should be going to. That will also lessen confusion on the original post as well.

Version 15.13.1.1688 and higher no longer support mobile intel 965 video chipsets under Vista. For WinXP, version 14.37.1.5029 of the mobile intel 965 graphics drivers are available at the following links ( XP 32bit) ( XP 64bit).
For newer "Intel X3100" video chipsets used under Windows XP, latest versions are 14.38.3.5047 (for WinXP 32bit) and 14.38.3.64.5047 (for WinXP 64bit)
So for those who have installed version 12 of the synaptics touchpad driver on the hp/compaq laptop and the driver doesn't work, try version 11.1. -
Thanks for bringing the Intel GMA drivers to my attention and for the info. I wasn't aware of this beforehand, because I could not install these due to the fact that I'm using NVIDIA graphics. The drivers I posted are actually not compatible with these notebooks because Intel GMA X3100/Mobile 965 graphics are not supported in these releases. I will update the original post as soon as possible to address this problem.
As for the Synaptics TouchPad driver, it's odd that the driver would not even install. Even if the specific hardware ID was not listed, it would resort to the generic Synaptics ID and install the driver. Also from looking at the INF, SYN0138 is listed. This is the hardware ID that all HP-Synaptics TouchPads in this 15.4" generation use (I personally checked mine and it is also listed as this). My advice is to uninstall any older Synaptics drivers that may have already been installed on the system before applying this new driver. Maybe that might help solve the problem.
Edit: Reverted Intel GMA drivers to version 14.37.1.5029 (6.14.10.5029) for XP 32, 14.37.1.64.5029 (6.14.10.5029) for XP 64, 15.12.4.1666 (7.15.10.1666) for Vista 32, and 15.12.4.64.1666 (7.15.10.1666) for Vista 64. I also updated Windows 7 drivers to version 8.15.10.1749. -

Thanks for the thread justinkw1. I notice that some of the drivers like wireless, bluetooth, quick launch, quicktouch, synaptics and digitalpersona drivers dont have Windows 7 specifically mentioned under 'OS Support'. Are those drivers still safe to install on Windows 7?
-
Edit: I added Windows 7 compatibility designations to the following:
- Intel WiFi Link 3965AG and Intel WiFi Link 4965AGN
- Synaptics TouchPad
- HP/Broadcom Integrated Bluetooth Module
- HP Quick Launch Buttons
Please let me know if any of the other drivers listed on the original post are compatible with Windows 7 (if they aren't already designated). Thanks! -
Hy justinkw1, I am running into issue with authentec not being recognized by digitalpersona under windows7. I installed latest 8.0.10 version, and also tried earlier 7.9 version later on, but I notice that each time I uninstall version 8.0.10, it reinstalls itself and overrides version 7.9. The included authentec truSuite can read fingerprints fine and log me into windows as well, but i m just curious why cant digitalpersona do it? Any tips?
-
I am not sure whether DigitalPersona is compatible with the existing AuthenTec driver under Windows 7 (which is why I didn't designate DP as compatible under Windows 7 yet). Unfortunately, I cannot really give you any further advice on this issue since I don't have a fingerprint reader on my laptop to reproduce it. I am hoping that an update to DigitalPersona (or even the fingerprint reader driver) will be available soon to hopefully fix your issue.

09/03/2009
- Removed HP QuickTouch.
- Updated Realtek High Definition Audio driver to version R2.32.
- Updated Realtek driver links due to redirecting issues.
The main reason I am removing HP QuickTouch is because it is not really a driver, but more of an optional add-on that isn't very useful. Also I updated Realtek driver links due to problems of properly redirecting to the appropriate drivers. -

This hasn't been updated since the beginning of the year, but new TV tuner drivers are finally available from HP. The original post has since been updated to reflect the names of the actual hardware, which are more accurate.
10/17/2009
- Renamed "HP Integrated Analog/Digital TV Tuner" to "HP ATSC/Analog TV Tuner, HP DVB-T/Analog TV Tuner."
- Updated HP ATSC/Analog TV Tuner, HP DVB-T/Analog TV Tuner driver to version 1.3.0.76 for Windows Vista/7 x86 and version 1.3.64.76 for Windows Vista/7 x64.
This new TV tuner driver supports multiple AVermedia products, namely the following: A317, A316, A309, and A328 -- the A317 and A316 are likely the TV tuners that are integrated into the notebooks, thus I only posted the driver version numbers for these two. Please let me know how this driver is working for you -- I cannot test this since I don't have an integrated TV tuner in my notebook. Don't install this if your notebook does not have an integrated TV tuner provided by HP.
(Off-topic, but a fun fact: Based on documentation, the four AVermedia TV tuners listed above are code-named after current and former American TV game show hosts -- Richard Dawson, Bob Barker, Pat Sajak, and Richard Karn, respectively.)

after installing windows 7 on my 6700t laptop, my cpu fan runs very fast everytime I start my laptop or wake it up from sleep. it does that for couple of mins and stops automatically.
task manager shows no cpu intensive application running. I have bios v59A installed.
anybody has similar issue?
thanks,
Sam -
@Sam: The system fan should run at high whenever you start up your notebook, but it should not last for more than a few seconds.
I'm not currently experiencing this issue -- you can try to use a monitoring utility to check your temperatures. Also you may want to make sure that your notebook has proper ventilation. -
