while a desktop 6800 is like a mobile 7900, it may be equivalent to 8800M thou ;)

i would suggest it, but i only want it because of the hdmi to hook it up to my 50" plasma, dont really play games. plus this time, i added the N wireless and bluetooth and the high capacity 6 cell, along with the video card.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but your dv2500t is not going to have 4GB of ram...

It may not be offered as an option, but it can always be added to it when the lappy shows up.

Would you please explain? Do they make 2GB dimms or something? I am pretty sure there are only two slots for memory!

Don't you think the guy is trying to prop up his notebook just a little TOO much?

7400rpm hard drive? Right, how about catching his left hand on fire!

Seriously, people take this notebook thing a bit far, don't ya think?

Yep, there are 2GB sticks available. HP even offers them as an option on the dv9500t (however they are expensive).

I don't mean to sound rude, but why are you so obsessed into coming into these topics and slamming people who want top-of-the-line notebooks? It's their money, let them do with it what they wish.

I have an AGP 128MB GF6800 (regular, non-ultra) in my desktop. Anyone know how well a 8400M GS would perform against it (aside from obvious DX10 support)?

i think a relatively close card to the destop version of 6800 is 8400GT with 256Mb (Vaio FZ) or even the 8600GS with at least 128Mb (dv9500t)

you will be able to play C&C 3 but at low-mid level settings. a 8400GT will do it at mid level settings or higher because it has the memory interface increased to 128bit.

Huh? What's the deal with people thinking they are going to TOP somebody else by posting bogus specs on a notebook?

Basically this forum has turned into my notebook can beat up your notebook! Who gives a turd, buy the damn notebook and enjoy it!

Oh, my dv6000t is "GONNA" have a 9.0GHz quad core 16MB L2Cache with a 32"widescreen 1920x1080 LCD with 12GB DDR2 System Memory, 750MB 12000rpm Hard Disk and the MOST important thing. A 2GB NVIDA GeForce Go 18,000GTX Graphics Card.

Nothing in that guy's system is unattainable. 4GB of RAM, a little expensive, but certainly doable. I probably wouldn't update the processor, but if you can get one and it fits in the slot, then why not? There's nothing else in that config that doesn't exist.

I've been reading this board for a few months now, and I can't say I have seen any of the attitude you're talking about. Most everyone is helpful and encouraging. The only *real* attitude seems to come from a few newcomers who jump on people about things that could otherwise be resolved using a google search.

I'm not sure where your Napoleon complex is coming from, but I don't think anyone's trying to "top" anyone else. They're just stating what they're going to buy... a ton of posts on this website are exactly like that.
