Anyone received shipping for new HP laptop from recent 500 dollar coupon deal?

I've also read that it depends on the specs you ordered so it's not just a particular model that's shipping before another...I've ordered the DV9700T here too, build by date of Feb. 15 and still the order is in production.

addad, every time I've ordered, it's taken four days to get it and I live in the Southeast USA. Both laptops were shipped from Shanghai as well. Got my tracking # on a Monday, received the laptop on Thursday. Got the tracking # on a Tuesday, received the laptop on a Friday.

The only thing that surprises me is the specs of my dv9700t. I ordered it with the "works" if you know what I mean. Got the dual 7200 rpm HDs, the blu-ray drive, the new penryn processor, 4GB of Ram, and Vista Ultimate. So if there was one to be delayed, I would have figured mine would have taken longer.

 

Jonathan, would you mind posting your exact specs?

Thanks Jonathan. Yep, the only real difference between our systems are that I only got the Lightscribe drive, different OS and memory but I did get the higher res screen. I wouldn't think that would make the difference in shipping days.

Must mean the intern is building my system!


ETA: anthrolaptop, don't know what your page is showing but if you give it a day, it should give you a delivery date. Mine always said it would be delivered on X date by 10:30 a.m. Hope that helps.

 

Hehe I don't know if that's ever a good thing! Anyways, I've seen in past times where the higher-res screen takes longer. But for me, I don't really like the smaller icons and so forth. I much prefer the lower resolution. For myself, I figured it'd take longer just because I basically got everything other than the upgraded LCD.

 

Wish me luck. I've never had a higher res screen but the idea of the extra real estate really appeals to me. I had a couple of DV9700Ts before this one that's (allegedly) shipping and they both had 1440x900 screens. I could've lived with them but since I had to order another, fingers crossed that I made the right decision to go up to the high res.

 

Well a long time ago I ordered a Dell CTO and I got a free LCD upgrade and it drove me crazy. I mean it's nice having the screen real estate, but the thing that drove me the craziest? Certain websites with photos on the site they looked blurry because of the LCD. Just that the higher-res LCD made certain pictures just look horrible. So I promised myself never again. Plus to me the added cost isn't that great. I don't get a "performance" boost for the cost.

 

so it is the 15th and mine is still order in production!!! Do you think it is something with the 6700t? Should have ordered the 9k series Mine has built day of 14th... so they are 1 day late already.

 

rogazilla, post your specs and let's see if there's some component that may be holding up the order.

It's a total guess but if those who've had theirs shipped and those who haven't post their specs, maybe we can discover a trend that may be the reason why some are shipping and others haven't.

Man I have same exact specs, same order date, and same estimation with no shipping today yet!?

 

just got my ETA for 2/19 before 10:30AM WOOT WOOT! IMMA BE HOME TOO!

 

Seems like HP follows first-in-first-out formula. I had ordered two notebooks same day, only 2 hours apart. The first-ordered notebook got approved first, then dropped off to factory first, then went into production first and now got shipped first.... All the time second one was following about 4-5 hours behind first one, so likewise I am expecting to receive the tracking number of second one within 4-5 hours... Both had expected build date of 15th. I got the tracking number for one of those today. It has been picked up from Shanghai, but after Fedex cutoff time.. does that mean it will get on plane on monday???

Usually after it gets picked up in shanghai, how long does it take to be delivered in US??

 

Same here! I just checked this morning and they added that in, which was not there last night. Sadly, I won't be home (I have work) but I guess I have people here that can sign for it, so I'm fine.

 

Finally! Oh, I am taking half day off and stay home waiting for it!

Mine only lists Shipment Exception, something about Fedex cutoff and its in China.

 

IT is located at the FEDEX's page when you use the tracking number.

 

hmm mine doesnt show the delivery estimate? Only ship date and the other info i listed. Where exactly on that page do you see it?

 

left upper corner. It shows ship date and right below it is the estimated arrival time.

 

weird mine doesnt have that. Under ship date there is a blank line then the line where it says Shipment exception. Did yours recently get that date or was it always there?

Sorry to sound like a broken record since I mentioned this earlier in this thread but the question of when the laptop will arrive keeps popping up. I live in the Southeast USA and the previous two times I ordered it always arrived four business days later.

For example, one shipped on a Monday and arrived Thursday. One shipped Tuesday and arrived Friday. So my newest one, which shipped Friday would arrive Wednesday if the trend continues.

I'm trying not to wish my weekend away but I'm counting down the days until it finally gets here!

I have paid for 2 days shipping(around 40$). My status shows shiipped and its sent out on 16th feb.But Estimated delivery on Feb 20, 2008 on the fedex tracking page.( that means its a 5 days standard shipping but they charged me around 40$+ for 2 days shipping).if i didnt receive on 17th can i ask for Refund of shipping cost?
( MY actual Build date is 19th Feb 2008).
My Service type for fedex shipment shows IP Direct Distribution - Indirect Signature . is it an express or standard free shipping that everybody receive..?

Its weird how it says arrived at Memphis at 2:41 AM then just recently updated to say arrived at Memphis 12:53PM. Whats up with that?

Am I the only one here whose laptop is still stuck in China? Maybe I will call HP monday if it hasn't shipped by then to see if I can get a $50 coupon.

 

Hey why you think tomorrow? That would be sweet. But the ETA is the 20th. I would think it wouldnt take them that long if its already in memphis though.

 

Mine's showing an ETA of Feb. 20 but it's in transit just an hour from here. From my previous orders in Dec., any time it was in Memphis, I got it the next day so maybe tomorrow it will be here.

It was a big (and nice!) surprise to see that it actually left China Friday and traveled all weekend. I wasn't even going to check the FedEx tracking # until tomorrow but curiosity got the best of me. Half the fun is tracking the package, you know!

i am having mine shipped to Tampa FL and that is almost exactly what my shipping details say. it would be sweet if i got it tomorrow.

 

man so i called fedex to see if my package would be here tomorrow bc i need to know if ill be home. and the guy was kinda not understanding what I was asking but when I said my package left memphis at 5 pm today he was like actually sir your package is at the pittsburgh airport. Now the pitt airport is only like 50 miles from where i live! Hopefully it will be here tomorrow morning - but I really need a time fram so I can make sure Im home - I have classes in the morning!

 

addad, my previous HP deliveries got here at 9:30 a.m. and it's probably going to stick to that before 10:30 a.m. time even though your ETA is off a couple of days (for the better).

 

My dv2700t SE is still in production. It was due to ship on Friday and it's already Monday in China now.

My question is, how long should I wait before I call HP about it?

Has anyone gotten their laptop shipped so late? Most people on here seemed to get theirs shipped before the expected ship date.

Personally, I don't see anything that would've held up your order from the specs you listed. Maybe it is the verve casing but if it was me, I would go ahead and call. Won't hurt anything. But I'm not very patient either so take that fwiw!

 

My dv2700t is still in production, as well. Ordered on 2/2 and it was supposed to be built by 2/15. You can call if you want, that is, if you are pretty good at cutting through heavy accents. I was passed around 6 different service reps this afternoon about a different matter and it was unpleasant enough that I would rather cancel my order than talk to these people again. Unfortunately, that would probably also require a call. Ugh...
