Go to the support and drivers section of the HP website, and other utilities there is a tool called UEFI Support Assistant. Run that, it will recreate the HP_Tools partition and allow you to flash normally. That's how I fixed mine after accidentally removing it.

rolling mine back to 06... cant play games with the current bios, if you press too many buttons quickly or at same time, registers as a Enter press

    I'm using a 17-3000...

The "123" issue is there, but that's only if I press them all at the exact same time.. Really, it's not a big deal.. It doesn't do it on the 10 key on the right.. only on the top ones... Those who are saying "I can't play games on it" are just being picky.. I'm having 0 problems with it... Honestly, this is the one update that turns this laptop from a very pretty but not that usable laptop to the perfect Macbook killer.

Seriously, who the hell presses 1,2,and 3 at the same time? I play Guild Wars and I don't have this problem. Of course, I press 1. 2. 3. I don't mash them all together. Its not like "OMG MASS AMOUNT OF ORCS. I BETTER LAUNCH ALL MY SPELLZ AT ONCE". LOL! ;)

Yes, I can recreate the issue. But honestly, I have to mash 1,2, and 3 all at the same time, which I never do.

Honestly, with the amount of issues you are having with your system gameface, why haven't you returned the system or sent it in for warranty work?

That's ok for players, yeah :p
But I can say, that there are definitively more than one key combination to get a carriage return. I had that sometimes when typing normal sentences. And that really sucks.

It's not about "Yeah, you only got it under these rare circumstances. So just live with it.".
    It's a fail.
    It wasn't there before.
I am really pissed about that.
I don't care about that bug while playing games. I care about it while typing. And since it's not only the 1-2-3 combination, it's really annoying.

^ exactly, if it wasn't a new issue, then why do I not have the problem now after flashing back to F.06?

Rolled Bios back, and all is well in gaming again. Its not just about smashing 3 buttons at once, if you are banging on buttons fast enough, it happens eventually and it WAS unplayable.

As for amount of issues, ive solved almost all of them, eventually. Machine is running smooth as ever now. And besides, I love the machine so it would have to become unusable for me to send it back

When trying to update my BIOs from F.05 to F.26 for my HP Envy 14 1000, after running the sp55493.exe both normally and in admin, after the system reboots when I run amd catalyst to read my system specs, bios is still the same, nothing changes... any ideas or help?

It really is a problem with the German word "das". It's changed to "da6s" if you type fast. Very annoying. I contacted HP and they confirmed that issue. Hopefully it will be fixed in future releases.

I got my Envy 15 3200 last thursday, and it came with BIOS F.05, not F.06 even though it says its the initial BIOS there. I'm confused on whether I should upgrade or not... Everything seems to be working fine, so I'm not sure whther I should mess with it.

    Thoughts?

Just update since BIOS updates are normally a good thing ;)
The Envy 17 30xx can downgrade by just by installing an older version. No worries

my envy 17 2110en came with bios f1.b and when i re installed windows i accidentally installed the bios f1.a which seems to be the latest.
The strange thing is that i cannot find the f.1b bios anywhere and through the bios update it looked like it was a newer bios.
    Im i correct?I did a bad thing installing f1.a ?

    • Added BIOS F.06 for ENVY Spectre XT 13-2XXX / ENVY Spectre XT Pro 13-bXXX ([IMG]).

You received a BIOS revision that was not (yet) available to the public. If you're not experiencing any issues with F.1A, then you are probably fine.

Are you certain you have an Second generation ENVY 17? The time you write this post. The f1b was released for another machines. not second generation ones.
There is some options inside bios about switch able graphics?
There is an advanced menu mode in this bios?

Look inside your hp_tools Maybe there you have the f1b package. If yes. Upload for everyone.

I know we're not supposed to post "BIOS issues" here but I have a question about the BIOS for the HDX 16.

I replaced the hard drive in my laptop and then tried to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7. The update failed and one of the possible reasons is that my new hard drive is Advanced Format and that my BIOS does not support Advanced Format. Anyone know if the latest BIOS for HDX 16 in the first post supports Advanced Format?

If not am I basically screwed?
