This mod open the advanced menu under our devices ( envy 17 2xxx series).

It's possible do change lot of option inside. But this doesn’t mind you CAN do it. some options can brick your device.

The one we all will use from now is enable AHCI instead RAID and change the video mode from fixed muxed to dynamic.

Question since it is relevant:

Can anyone get a hold on the F1D BIOS for the Envy 17 2xxx which seems to be only available to HP service technicians. Maybe someone has special access or magic friends ?!

 

Hi can somebody mod the BIOS for a HP ENVY 23 Touchsmart (d160qd) to include overclocking for cpu (i7-3770s) and gpu (Intel HD Graphics 4000). There's almost no support for this AIO.

I was looking to buy a loaded Touchsmart ENVY 17 and one that I'm interested in I have seen some screen shots and one page under Specifications under Win 8.1 Pro said "HP Pavilion dm3 Notebook PC" for Product name. Otherwise everything else looks correct; it may be a j000 model.

Is this common, or did they flash the wrong BIOS file or something else? Thanks.

Just wanted to inform you guys that an updated BIOS may be available for your notebook PC that's meant to address several UEFI EDK2 security vulnerabilities. Please CLICK HERE for more information. I'll try to see if I can get this thread updated with the new BIOS releases when time permits.

From what I can tell, most ENVY notebooks dating back to early 2012 are affected so please feel free to take a look if you fall into one of the models listed.
