@mraufiat,,,,,,
Why don't you just CALL???.....There is a 1-800 number.....or open a chat window with a HP sales support person on the shopping site....... LIKE I DID!

Geesh,,,,you just want to ramble and babble on with no point to make, other than to hook someone into a chat.................
BTW,,,,,that 'VALUE PRICED RAM',,,,run Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool on it, betcha there's more than 10% bad sectors,,,,,factory rejects that were to be destroyed but got snuck out the back door and/or rebranded, labeled and put on the market,,,EBay/Amazon/NewEgg/TigerDirect,,,that crap is everywhere.

There is QUALITY ram at a good price here:
Newegg.ca - CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8G) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10
$132.99 CDN + $9.99 Shipping

I especially like this review about the product:

Me, I would STILL run Memtest86+ on this ram......an SD Card.....or Memory Stick......just because there are no visible defects, doesn't mean that they aren't there.

Dude, First off chill! I gave you Kudo's in my post -- I said no disrespect intended toward you, and even said you knew your IT so what is your deal.
As for the ram I also said in a post it's not worth haggleing over as each has their own opinion and some people are on a budget. I'm not going to even bother with memory rebranding as I assume you know just how few manufactures are out there and yes you pointed us all to memory thats $143 (with shipping) and mine was $77 (almost half the price). Buy what you will, let others buy what they well, give them the choice. I can quote good reviews for the ram I listed as well -- so what. I'm not now nor did I ever bash you so chill out please. You give excellent advise, I've read your posts, but it's not just your way or the highway as can be pointed out by the 483 blister packs of this ram newegg sold out of in 2 days (yes they are now sold out).
As for the call HP or open a chat. REALLY, you think the vast majority of those people have any information as to product roll out. If you do think so fine, that's your opinion and I respect that, but please respect mine in saying half those people can't find their butt with both hands behind there back when I've called them for support.
As for my pointless posts: a good deal on memory, pointing out that service manuals are out, ET. Again your opinion, it is a message board.
In conclusion I didn't wish to nor am I now trying to get into a pi--ing match with you. I respect your knowledge and opinion, but I don't have to agree with it. I'm sure you are a good person but so I am I so take a breath and if you see my name scroll past it, no biggie. Respond as you will but I'm done with this and say, if I have offended you I did not intend to but I have done nothing wrong. -
lol ima do that -

I'm calling this hand. 17-32xx reveal 2nd week of June after Intel does their showcase magic at Computex next week - becoming available by the 4th week of June. Correct me if im wrong, but the i5-3210M dual-core is the only processor that HP is still waiting for.
I might be a little too optimistic >.< time will tell.

well the dual cores have been released early
hopefully we see the new envys released soon
thanks to xeofreestyle for finding it first
-
They haven't been released yet at all. Only the quad cores... That's what the whole debacle is with Intel because of production setbacks last year... (earthquake)

Really, 2 gigs of Video RAM isn't necessary... Most games you play won't even pass that one gig threshold..

AMD Radeonâ„¢ HD 7800M Series Graphics
Scroll down to the 7850M and behold. Great for you guys that do CAD (Catia etc...). And moderate gaming with DX11 and OpenGL 4.2. Personally i'm loving the fact that this is PCIe 3.0 -
I use CAD... But I haven't come to a point (from what I can tell) that needs to use the extra gig of video memory... But then again, I've been using it as a student and haven't done anything really major yet..

I'm holding out for the 17-32xx 3D, if the vchip is not supported by AMD because HP messed with it, I'm going with the non 3D version that has the vchip AMD supports.
I want this notebook to work out of the box, and not have to mess with it until the extended warranty runs out.
3rd Party software suppliers and updates,,,just don't happen.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! About time!

When you customize your order, it indicates that you are customizing an Envy 17 3000 instead of an Envy 17 3200.
Also, I believe the 7850 is not set as the default GPU but instead the 7690 is the default.
Other minor issues like the multiple selections for the same operating system etc... and the lack of indicating "turbo boost" for the processors. -
I noticed that too. Windows 7 Ultimate then Genuine Windows 7 Ultimate...
Only 3 of the 6 processors have Turbo Boost at the end of the description
720p HD video streaming webcam and HP TrueVision HD Webcam
2 Intel wlan cards. One of which doesn't say 'wireless display support'
2 graphics cards. 7850M and 7690M... Only the 7690M brands and actually says AMD at the front
I expect HP will have this sorted out by tomorrow (Monday). Unless they put this up by accident which could be the issue, i'm not aware of any press release to announce the 32xx
-
Here is my configuration for the envy 15:
Coupon: $608.85
Price after savings: $1,236.14
and then I got the 3 year total care +accidental
Price: $209.99
so total comoes out to be after tax: $1,523.39
such a good deal! anything i should change? its right above the $1,500 given to me by my university but i can chip in that much -

too bad hp is charging too much of a premium for the ssd otherwise I would have gotten that upgrade
-
are the resolutions between the spectre XT and the hp envy 17 that big of a difference? taking in consideration of the screen size difference too.. i need a laptop that can play diablo 3 and i understand that the envy will play it better but the spectre is more portable and can play it as well so the resolution difference is my only concern right now.. and no numpad but that can be fixed with a usb numpad

Alright guys, I've been an ENVY 15-3000t owner since about the time that people first found out about the red-orange issue, and I've been slowly biding my time for the refresh, exchanging the laptop out every 21 days (for legitimate reasons - dented ports/speakers, dust under the screen, raised trackpads, my current one makes strange popping noises, etc). I'm typing this on my 6th or 7th one now.
I was looking forward to seeing the IPS screen updated to solve the red-orange issue, but it seems like they won't be changing the screen. Upgrading to the ENVY 17 seems like it will only be $100 more, so I'm very seriously contemplating leaving the 15's issues behind, as I've heard the 17 has had a lot less QC hiccups and issues in general.
However, as much of an issue as the IPS screen is, it still is an IPS screen. Does anyone know if the 17 will be getting an IPS screen update, or at the very least, how good the viewing angles on the 1080p TFT screen are? Gamut's very important to me, but I've gotten used to the glorious viewing angles on the 15 by now.
This is pretty much going to be the deciding factor if I move up to the 17 or not, so details would be extremely appreciated. -
-
It's killing me not to configure and buy right now.... I'm gonna wait a couple of weeks. Maybe after i see a youtube review or from engadget/cnet/the verge or just people posting in NBR
-
my fellow envy lovers, can you tell me if theres a difference in dimensions between the envy 15 and envy 17? (other than the screen dimensions lol) thanks guys

Well guys I couldn't resist and pulled the trigger on the 17 inch. Build date is June 12th. Ordered through the phone. Wasn't able to get anything beyond the 33% coupon. Look forward to reviewing later.
-
I am gonna order the 3D 17 tomorrow,
the NBG5247 coupon should be good for 2 weeks
using that coupon removed the discount on the 3yr HP care pack.
I guess the 3200 series site will get cleaned up tomorrow. I am excited for the new AMD 7850M. -
AU4U Says:
Again,,,,,
I have been told that they will be available in AUGUST (+/-), by 5 HP employees, on different occasions.
New electronic products are released for sale by HP every year at that time.
Look back in the forum posts to previous Envy product release's.

Please, next time you spend countless posts flaming someone for having an opinion other than yours --- think again -- and let them have their opinion or at the very least repectfully disagree.
Have a great day -
I assume everyone knows the upgrade to Windows 8 Pro is effective 6/2/12 at a cost of $14.99. You can only add your name to a notification list at this time but a purchase now will be valid for the upgrade.
33% Coupon "NBG5247" and Win 8 Pro for $15. Not bad.
Here is the link to put your name on the notification list if anyone is interested. All you give is name and Email and Microsoft will email you when program registration begins.

Hi I've been stalking this and the Envy 15 thread for ages and I'm pretty much settled on the 17inch with the bigger screen and better spec for games.
Can someone confirm for me whether the red-orange defect occurs on the Envy 17? To my understanding it's just the Envy 15's that's had this problem but I'm not 100%. -
The Envy 15's IPS is the only screen with the defect.
-
I returned my Pavillion and is getting ready to order the Envy 17. I just want some clarification on what HP term:
"750G 7200 rpm Hybrid Hard Drive +$10.00" -
its the seagate hybrid drive... it has a small ssd cache where the stuff u use most often is stored so than u get faster load speeds... its like the inbetween for ssd and regular hdd. kinda like a mssd+hdd in one package
-
just ordered my 17!! finally and im returning my sandy bridge 17
came out to like 1430 with the 33% off -
I'm considering returning my DV7T for the Envy 17. For the most part I like the DV7T, but the Envy 17 offers some enticing "upgrades".
Pro's
1. Better build quality
2. eyefinity support.
Con's
1. non removable battery
2. glossy display (I prefer matte finishes)
Questions
1. How is the cooling compared to the DV7T? I've read that the parts of the Envy that get warm are away from the keyboard (under the display and the lower right where the HDD is located). The DV7T gets very warm while gaming. Do you guys think the Envy 17 will do a good job cooling the 7850M?
2. I know the Envy 17 can house dual HDD's but does it come with the necessary bracket if I don't configure it with dual HDD's from HP? Will I need to buy the caddy separately?
Unless there are any drawbacks, I think I'll place the order tomorrow to ensure I get a reasonable delivery date.
Thanks -
Just put in my order. Less than $1200, what a great deal!
Woohoo! -
-you could literally cook an egg on the WASD keys, one small fan cooling both the 650m and i7 is not good design nor good for the life expectency of the laptop
-the Envy 17 has two fans and has been reviewed to run a lot cooler than the Dv7
-poor poor build quality, wavy keyboards and keys that has some chipped paint, I wouldn't have noticed it if it weren't for the backlit keyboard
I could name more things that are wrong with the Dv7, they are just too many to list. The speakers and screen are really nice though. -
