Try configuring an Envy 14 with radiance and add it to your cart..I keep getting "Some of your components are not available, please change them", it only happens when I had the radiance..is it the same for everyone? Looks like Engadget was right when they said "limited time"..oh well, at least I got my order in
EDIT: It's now completely gone from their website
-
The deal just expired
-
the $500 off coupon just expired but i thought they would still sell the radiance..why would they release it just for the coupon?
-
Yeah looks like it's gone. Was fun while it lasted!
-
They prob only had a certain number of screens. Someone prob purchased the last one and now theres no more. Simple as that.
-
So it would be safe to assume that they had about 2500 radiance displays? Where do you think they got them from if the manufacturer shut down..if they had some left over then why wait so long to put them up
-
Wow, both the coupon and the radiance display ran out really quick. So glad that I got my order in when I did.
-
Yea I got mine. I just spoke to hp thinking I would change something on my order and they cant even do that. If you change something now you will lose the screen. Everyone seems to think the screen is the biggest upgrade for this laptop. Lucky us who got it. The guy on the phone even said he had the regular screen and purchased a new laptop just for the screen when he seen it was back.
On a side note they gave me 20 bucks lol. Dont ask me why. I didnt complain or anything. The guy was just like sorry we cant change anything without losing the screen now but here is 20 bucks lol. I love hp. -
if you call hp they will still give you 500 off, but the radiance screen is gone. i couldn't get it so i upped the processor to top i5 core, upped RAM to 8 gb, upped hard drive to 640, and took a second battery. total was 1425, or 925 after the guy on the phone took off 500.
925 for all this (even though i wanted the radiance) is still an amazing deal. a 14 inch asus bamboo is 999 on amazon, with less ram, less processor, less HD and downgrade on graphics card. -
There goes my hopes that I'd get the Radiance later on some laptop screens store
. External display it is... (unless someone is willing to sell theirs lol)
And congrats to all of you who managed to get it, enjoy!
-
What number are all you gys calling that you are all getting these discounts. Everytime that I call I am met with nothing but scorn from the employees. Are any of you guys getting Americans for service reps?
(Disclaimer, nothing against outsourcing but I have spoke to several reps that I honestly couldn't understand and who knew very little about computers) -
ditto, made my move the same day it came out.
-
The secondary sites will still make a copy eventually. it may be a while before its cheap enough for them to make.
-
I get Americans. I just called the number on the website. First time was to order and they gave me the $500 coupon. Second time I wanted to change something and they gave me $20 bucks for no reason. I told them its ok if they cant change it I dont want to lose the screen. The guy was like yes we cant reselect the screen as an option after we cancel it but I will credit you $20 for you trouble. lol. so i got a $520 coupon now. I am tempted to call and tell them the slice battery is cheaper in the parts store. Maybe they will give me 50 bucks back for that.
-
Oh, I didn't know they were copies (how naive!), thought they were resellers of the original ones. In that case, how reliable are those? There's still hope then
-
I meant being able to buy a radiance screen at say laptopscreens.com in the future....

lol so i think im gonna sell mine that i just ordered now.. im sure i could get a nice amount more then what i got it for by sell it on ebay saying that now there is no more radiance display
im jk
but you know its gonna happen with some people lol.. i wouldn't be surprised if someone could get $200+ by just throwing it up on there -
some will no doubt pop up on there soon. I bet lots of people are doing that.
-
Now that radiance screen laptops are out of stock...expect for the prices to sky rocket again. If I remember correctly, some were selling at around retail price. If I could, I would re enable the 2 orders I made and cancelled because I changed my mind on the configuration...LOL.
Edit: Look at how much this REFURBISHED Envy 14 went for because it had the Radiance screen. http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-ENVY-14-i5-2...tops_Nov05&hash=item45f7dca413#ht_5110wt_1139 -

Have to admit that when I ordered mine I seriously considered "investing" in a couple more and selling them for a profit when the Radiance and the $500 off are just memories, lol. I couldn't bring myself to do it though, because I felt it would deprive a couple of people from getting the deal and the screen, and I just felt like it was greedy to do so. I agree that there were probably quite a few who drained the inventory with such plans. Let's hope they only ask for a $200 profit. As the example shows, something closer to $400 is the market-clearing price.
-
We need more ppl like you man. Seriously, be proud.

wow you think $400 bucks eh... i might reconsider keeping it haha lol

"You do the math," as they say,
Cost with coupon = $950, give or take; selling at $1,300+ on eBay, and those were refurbs, if I'm not mistaken. Hey I can't condemn people - it's a free country - I just know I felt a bit sleazy considering it as a plan. But then, I don't need the cash that badly. One thing I do know is that I would have been majorly pissed if I went to order shortly after the coupon/radiance was announced only to find all the units were already snapped up by speculators. I mean, is nothing safe from the greedy anymore?
-
I just got a call from HP Sales, and was told that the Radiance screen I ordered was no longer available. I ordered mine at 3AM EST 1/18 and was told that any orders placed after Monday would not be filled with the Radiance screen. I was offered an hard drive upgrade to 750GB and a 8GB RAM upgrade. I'm extremely disappointed, as I can get those items relatively cheap on newegg, but the Radiance screen was what I really wanted.
I do want to say that the person who contacted me was extremely apologetic and professional, and wanted my "feedback" as what I think would be fair and reasonable compensation...I told him I'd get back to him later in the day.
Did anyone else receive a courtesy phone call? -
All I know is that I'll be dreading any phone call I get today or tomorrow if I don't recognize the number : (. Sorry for your bad luck. I ordered mine on Monday the 17th around 10am so hopefully I'm in before the cutoff.
And def ask for a SSD at the very least if you're getting screwed out of the radiance. I probably would tell them I simply don't want it anymore, or would take the SSD and sell the whole package on ebay. -
That is INCREDIBLY lame and I wouldn't back down, were I you. They almost certainly have SOME available stock of these screens. You paid them. They took your money and promised you a good and now you want it. You're absolutely in the right and they shouldn't get away with this.
-
Doubtful. I placed my order last Thursday and because of a glitch on HP's end it didn't get processed until after the Radiances had sold out. HP fully acknowledged their error and I spent hours on the phone with them yesterday trying to find some way to source a Radiance display for me, and they came up empty.
-
So glad I placed my order Monday afternoon
-
It looks like many who placed their order on Monday afternoon had it canceled so don't count your chickens before they hatch!
-
I am happy to be an early bird, ordered on Saturday morning.
-
Me too
Let me know when yours ship. I will do the same. Anxiously waiting.
-
it still says "in production" , scheduled for Feb 1st ...

With this I am inclined to agree, though it will probably be tough to coax it out of them. Your squeaky wheel probably will do better if it has a nice and polite tone rather than a demanding one, in my experience with HP Home/Home Office people. You might try calling the Resultions: 888-227-8451. This is the group that usually makes the judgment calls about refunds, replacements, etc, but often the line call center people get their "orders" from them - better to speak to them directly. I have often gotten much better results going direct to that dept. You might also ask them about a refurb, if you would consider it. Can't guarantee results, but no harm in trying. -
i ordered mine monday morning.... and it got cancelled....
Envy 14 Radiance display gone..again!?
