    I don't think 9600M GT can run 3DMark11 because it just a DX10 GPU. 3DMark11 need DX11 GPU.
    What is your final score for 3DMark11? If around P1500 that is normal.
    Can u install MSI Afterburner and check the GPU clocks? Maybe the clock stucked on 2D Mode..

    You're right my mistake! It must have been 3dmark06 I think I was thinking 3dmark11 because of 2010-2011 the time I would have been testing it. Sorry for the mistake guys!

    His scores were still low in vantage compared to standard. Although I believe he got it working correctly.

    Yeah his score on Vantage was quite low. At first i thought he probably running the benchmark on Intel HD3000 but the score is too high for HD3000, so i was thinking that probably his AMD GPU stucked on 2D mode clock which is 400/800 instead of 725/800 for HD6770M and 725/900 for HD7690M XT.

    Yeah it was an issue with the drivers I'm guessing because after a couple more reinstalls and reboots it finally ended up working for me lol.

    My 3dmark11 score is 1565.

    I can buy that. So while were half on the topic. Anyone know how to edit the 2d and low power 3d clocks of the card? not that there's a ton of reason to since we have the Low Power intel card and the 2d Graphics are already pretty much as much as needed IMO. But still I liked riva tuner :)

    Possible. Could you post your own settings from CCC and AC? as well as maybe a screen shot of your Software/Hardware tab in CCC? That might help narrow down the issues.

    //

    On a side note I finished Mass Effect 3 last night and the game while slow to start was simply amazing! It also ran smooth as butter.

    With graphics at highest in CCC and ME3 it looked beautiful and had steady high frame rates. The game locks rates so higher rates would be possible otherwise.

    30FPS locked constant (No drop ever) on 720P HDMI Out 60 locked. Occasionally the lock would increase during certain portions of the game usually fast paced portions.
    I saw these same frame rates on the laptops screen when tested (1600x900) and could even play with both screens on. One as desktop with system temps/clocks/ram listed and another as the game.

    This is probably one of the better games i've played they have obviously worked hard on improving the last two games including graphics, storyline, and actual play. My only annoyance was the space bar is used for everything.

    Anyways since I know you all can play it stock I figured i'd say this is a must play game. For anyone who likes the ME series this game has a lot of moments where you just stand up and feel like your mind has melted from the situations that occur even more so from the outcomes of some of your choices..

    But yeah i'm going to stop typing now because I have far to much to say about the game and I doubt anyone wants to read it all. plus I hate spoiling things :)

    Here is my settings in CCC and ingame settings . And about mass effect 3 i heard its horrible, same graphics as me2 and weird running animation and a horrible ending with no effect of your choices on it.

    Nah I don't see anything that would cause that since you have most of the oddball ccc settings off (edge detect/morpho). Sorry bud can't say I know =/ any specific instances when it occurs and can always be repeated? Also what sort of FPS do you get with multisampling set to 4x? I can never set past two without dropping below 24 FPS but I also use everything high in ccc.

    ME3 Discussion
    For me ME3 had nicer graphics mostly in the sense that they were cleaned up. A lot of times in Me1/2 images/people would "mesh" (cut into each other) I didn't see that at all in this game. Also for the PC ver you can't set all the graphics settings in game there is an app in the installation folder *yes its stupid* where a couple more settings are avail such as Motion blur, Dyn Shadow, #of lights, Sph harm light, Ani Filter. Your previous choices and Ren/Par actually did have an effect on the available endings although i won't get into it on here and the ending was not the greatest in any case. In fact I had parts I favor more earlier in the game. I noticed a weird running animation on the demo and first level of the campaign other than that I never really noticed it. But yeah :)

    I tried the same settings as XAcid9 but still the shadows have low view distance and flicker from far and when i come close i see a thin line passes through the shadows and make them better. Its really an annoying problem especially when running . Off-topic but why your CCC looks different ? What drivers did you install ? @Silas i tried x4 and my fps dropped from 40 to 27. And about the mass effect 3 do you recommend it apart from these problems if i enjoyed me2 but lost my save file ?

    I'm using Leshcat 12.x Feb28 UnifL. Newer CCC have application profile where u can save 3D setting for each game you're playing. You should try it. :p

    He has saved an application profile. Click "save" and choose the games .exe in its program folder. It will save those specific settings to be used just for that game. that way if certain games run at certain settings you can quickly change back and forth instead of having to remember. it should be avail in either lesh or dna. i've attached pictures at the bottom.

    ME3 INFO
    As for ME3. I highly recommend the game. The ending pissed me off and my room mate and I have actually had 2-3 hour long discussions over how they could have fixed it such. The only reason it actually matters that much though is the rest of the game is just so damn good that the ending is a shame. it's really just that ending 5-10 minutes of cut scene too and considering I played 40+ hours in this game and enjoyed probably 35+ (who doesn't get bored running around the citadel?)

    In fact during my discussions with my buddy the point has come up that most people will hear the game is "horrible" due to just the ending in reality this game does include everything mass effect players love. hard Choices, fun fire fights, entertaining side dialog, and more. The game has gotten to the point where the things you do really do effect the galaxy which can end up bringing relationships closer or alienating everyone. Its the "hard life as a commander scenario" and it's great. don't pass this one up. i'd recommend pc play. also I lost my save file for 1 and 2 still a great game. Actually considering replaying both of them if I have the time but i'm a college student with a job sooo yeah haha.

    As an example I played this game alongside two people my brother and buddy Tyler. We all thought it had been 15-20 hours when we realized it had been around 40+. That's proof alone that we enjoyed it aha.

    Acid

    I might be making the jump to lesh here for a little bit just to do comparison testing. I have the 940 drivers from DNA still but he has yet to put out a modded version of the 12.2 WHQL .950 drivers. If they have any performance increase at all i'll stick with them.

    Edit: So I tryed installing Lesh but over the last two days my system boot time has gone from extremely fast to hanging after login.. This issue has been made worse with the driver change as windows keeps trying to reinstall over the lesh drivers.. I've tried to disable this and or cancel at boot but windows while hanging at login does it all without asking.. POS it has no reason to suddenly be slow booting.

    Edit 2: Got the drivers installed successfully and it appears that i've fixed my issues. Unfortunatly Testing was lower but not by huge strides in most cases about 300-400 Points for me. This is actually good news as the standard 8.950 drivers in the past have given me drops of ~3000 when tested. So in my mind these drivers pass. I've attached images of comparison. Didn't personally notice any differences between the 12.2/12.3

    Edit 3: I've reinstalled the dna drivers and appear to still be having trouble. they're testing in at 5500-5600 with the same settings as lesh this same driver use to test at ~6900. Results are swinging wildly i'm going to have to work on my system (Malware scans/Settings Checks/Error Checking/Driver Reinstallation) before I can give any solid info as to whether or not Lesh or DNA have a higher performance gain.

    Hey all, thanks for the help with updating drivers.

    I installed DNA 12.2 over the HP stock drivers. Everything is stable but I cannot launch CCC. It shows up in Task Manager as a process, but I cannot interact with the program. Any thoughts?

    Are u on dynamic switching? Don't sweat it over 3DMark scores, DNA 11.8 despite gave me low 3DMark score but it perform the best for many games i play at that time.

    @geckodude
    Try reinstall ccc-core-static.msi.

    Did you make sure to install the CCC package in both the HP Drivers and DNA? Try using the installer to just install CCC again?

    Thanks for the suggestions. After several attempts at reloading HP drivers and installing both DNA and Guru drivers I still can't get CCC to run. It launches fine after the HP drivers are loaded but after that no dice.

    Is the version of CCC in 12.1 the same as 12.2/3? Maybe I can try that.

    12.x is the version number of the Catalyst 8.9xx is the version of the driver so when you refer to anything 12.xx you're referring to Catalyst which usually gives you an idea as to the ccc. 12.2 is whats included in the dna drivers. 12.2/12.3 depending on the leshcat. 12.1 in hp.

    I suggest you use this Atiman Uninstaller and do Automatic Uninstallation>Fully uninstall. Then install HP driver, only tick display driver and switchable component. Then you can install either DNA or 8.96 Feb 28 from Guru3D.

    Or you can use Atiman Uninstaller and then install Leshcat's 12.x Feb28 UnifL driver.

    Thanks for the help! I was able to get the 8.93 drivers working since the catalyst version is the same as the HP stock. When I get a chance I'll try the uninstaller and give the 8.95/8.96 drivers another shot.

    Thanks again for the quick, quality advise!

    When I play Bad company 2 my laptop always crashes. It can be 5 mins in or 30 mins into a online game at heavy metal. I have tried all of the HP drivers and all of the newest ones from AMD. MY 6770 hits a max temp of 66-70 C when gaming it seems. I need to sell my current desktop with GTX 570 to help pay for this laptop so I NEED this laptop to at least play bad company 2 with out flaw. I was think perhaps it was the integrated audio? thoughts?

    @Silas and XAcid , i found out that the shadow problem was the same in Alan Wake ( as i come close a thin line passes and makes them much better ) and i fixed it in Alan Wake by putting shadows on high (it was low ) . Anyway i noticed that in assassin creed the shadows are on 3 ( highest value ) but it seems it makes no difference if i put them on 2 or 1 . Is there a way to make sure these settings are getting applied in the game since i think whatever value i put them , they are always low . As for the mass effect 3 i'll pick it up tommorow. And do you run it on high by forcing AA in CCC ? Thanks

    Both I set CCC to "Enhance" along with all other settings as High with edge detect and morpho. Then all AC settings to high and aa to 2x my test for that is AC2 as it's whats currently installed.

    Also I have my laptop up and running correctly again. testing in at 6900 with dna.

    This only occurs when gaming and only in bad company 2? have you used anything to record temps during the crash. Also can you check windows error reporting and see if this is a display driver crash or if the game is causing a system crash?

I recently got La Noire and was curious what settings should i use + fraps doesnt work in this game so i cant check if the 30 fps cap was removed or not . Edit: after googling the problem i found a topic about the same shadow problem in other games but with nvidia card. forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=208816&st=20 . I didnt understand how to disable bilinear filtering so i hope someone might understand it a bit more and help. Thanks

    BTW, I got the 12.3 and 8.95 drivers to work. Thanks for the help!

    I ended up using the DNA full uninstall suggested in the DNA FAQ. Then installed HP stock CCC and drivers then full install of DNA over the top of that. Must have been some old stuff that was removed by the MS uninstaller tool with the DNA download.

    seems to be only bad company 2. Temps on GPU have never gone above 80C with OC (880/1000). CPU has gone to 95C on first 2 cores though. When i check the error log I find that it was a critical kernal power issue 40 or 41. It does not seem to be related to S/W but no other game exhibits this behavior.

    DNA has put up a link to the vanilla driver 8.95.5 on AMD's site

    The driver info says "MLAA now operates up 80% faster than previous versions of MLAA"

    I have to wonder how this effects overall game performance. I will probably install them over the next couple of days. Figured id let everyone know!

    Image of driver install attached along with CCC Info changes

    Edit: So I installed but haven't tested in game or in vantage but I have opened up Sony Pro Vegas and these drivers are supported unlike 8.94!

    Edit2: Score isn't low but it isn't high didn't clean install just installed over 8.94 will clean install later

    Edit3: Still haven't done a clean install but checked ATI settings. it was overriding 3dVantage. set to "app settings" (this is standard after clean install normally) new score is 7003. Think I found my new fav drivers.

    Just wondering what do you guys get for CPU scores? It always says mine is performing low (because of turbo boost I think) but I'm not sure if thats common or if I have something installed/set incorrectly

    EDIT: FIXED! I reinstalled windows and took apart the laptop and reapplied new thermal paste. CPU scores at 19500 now which is 2400 past average for this cpu. Glad it's working now.

    I usualy get 6900 with DNA. I got less with Leshcat when I tried them around a week or two ago. I got around 8100 (8084) when Overclocked on DNA. This 7000 is non DNA it's stock AMD

    Edit: Also noted above my CPU is not scoring as it should... No idea why everything is set to performance in AMD/Coolsense/Power Ops it scores around 12000 and even yours scores at 16000. I can't figure it out. My only guess is thermal throttling. It doesn't make sense 3dmark is reading my CPU is as being 798mhz.

    AMD Radeon HD 6770M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2720QM Processor,Hewlett-Packard 165A score: P7003 3DMarks

    Health Check

    If you look at the cpu score on that second page you will see

    Edit2: I ripped open my laptop and cleaned off the CPU/GPU it had way to much Thermal paste on it (it was covering nearly the entire CPU) In fact ill post an image. Point being CPU is at 39C now and GPU is at 40ish. (they were at 55 and 65) So that's a cut of 16 and 25* C. I used AS5 of course.

    For anyone who has noticed sections of their laptops are hot but that the fan doesn't feel hot new paste and a cleaning are a must. With the better paste application and dust removal the air blown by my fan is now HOT under extreme load (barely was warm/felt before but the laptop was hot) Even in coolest mode the fan is quiet now on day to day tasks.

    Edit3: I disabled EIST and this brought my score up to around 1600 for my CPU (should be 1700) My overall score after overclocking (835/900) was 8265. I know it could be higher if the CPU would test as it should.. I'm gonna be reloading windows since this is spring break and it hasn't worked right in a while and i've wasted more time trying to figure it out than just wiping it would take.

    Would you be able to tell me what BIOS version you're using?

    EVERYONE WITH BATTLEFIELD 3 ISSUES leshcats latest driver supposedly should fix some of the driver stop issues. http://leshcat.blogspot.com/

    Edit: FIXED! See bottom

    So now that i've reinstalled windows i'm having a new (less annoying) issue. My 8GB of ram is showing as 6.45 available. Now I know it's going to hardware which is the Intel 3000 HD gfx but this occurs even when using my AMD card.

    I find this odd for two reasons.
    1. I think the intel card should be releasing the ram when the AMD is the one in use.
    2. It only did this after windows wipe. It always read 8GB avail before the wipe.

    So was something fixed with the wipe or is something broken now? anyone with an 8gb Ram dv7-6 have any light to shed?
    If others say this is normal that'll be fine because honestly i'm not noticing any performance issues. Fast/faster than new.

    Note: I've tried reboot, bios batt pull, and ram pull/switch no progress.

    FIXED! The issue was due to a bad MSCONFIG>Boot Options>Advanced>Max Memory. it was set to "0" this was causing this issue. Unticked and Windows now sees 8GB full (-53mb hardware which is normal I believe)

    I'm not using the HP Intel drivers now I updated via intels site. I was using hp before though and I used these same drivers previously before I wiped the system and had no issue.

    It's really weird. System is running top notch though. All benchmarks are high, power consumption is good, stability/performance have been perfect and windows perf/stability test claims everything is 100%.

    From what I can tell everything is perfect and running as good as ever so unless that changes or someone provides me with any interesting info i'll probably leave this one be as i'm pretty sure it's just a difference in how the RAM is being reported and not actually a difference in usage.

    Well it isn't out yet but Recommended Specs are as follows:

    Windows® Vista/7 (latest service packs)
    Intel® Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 5600+ 2.8 GHz
    2 GB RAM
    NVIDIA® GeForce® 260 or ATI Radeon™ HD 4870 or better

    The Processor Scores are as follows:

    Intel Core2Duo 2.4Ghz (E6600) = 1,499
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ 2.8 Ghz = 1,514

    (Mine) HP Intel 2720QM 2.2-3.3Turbo Ghz = 6,997

    The GPU's are as follows:

    NVidia GeForce GTX 260 = 1,747
    ATI™ Radeon HD 4870 = 1,739

    HP Standard AMD Radeon HD 6770M = 1,357

    CPU = ~5,500+
    GPU = ~400-

    The GPU really shouldn't be that big of a deal especially if you overclock. I can't say as to whether or not max settings will have a smooth 24FPS but the game will for sure be playable at more than the minimum settings.

    Other than that we will have to wait for the game to come out in order to actually see it perform. (May 15th)

    Note: I used my CPU as your's was unknown but any i7 in a DV7t-Dv6t should be more than capable.

    Edit: I've decided to attach min specs analysis

    Windows® XP/Vista/7 (latest service packs) with DX 9.0c
    Intel Pentium® D 2.8 GHz or AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 4400+
    NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800 GT or ATI Radeon™ X1950 Pro or better
    1 GB RAM (XP), 1.5 GB (Vista/7)
    12 GB available HD space
    DVD-ROM (required for retail disc versions only)
    Broadband** Internet connection
    1024x768 minimum resolution

    CPU is as listed:

    Intel Pentium D 2.8ghz = 741
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ = Unlisted Subed Est: 650-800

    (Mine) HP Intel 2720QM 2.2-3.3Turbo Ghz = 6,997

    GPU is as listed:

    NVidia GeForce 7800 GT = 521
    ATI Radeon X1950 Pro = 827

    HP Standard AMD Radeon HD 6770M = 1,357
    CPU = ~6200+
    GPU = ~500+

    Easily Playable on minimal settings and probably playable on mid level. No Promises till it's out though of course.

    I know it's not out, but people have been playing the Beta for a long time now. We should be able to get the numbers from the beta release

    True but things can change drastically between beta and release. One example being Vista it was great in beta for me and ran like crud when released. I also tested Star Craft 2 and the graphics pull could change drastically between releases.

    Still though you're right it would be interesting to see.

    Help me notebookreview, you are my only hope.

    A few weeks ago I managed to install DNA 12.2.1 on my HP Pav dv6. It was fine but recently the laptop started crashing (bsod) with igdpmd64.sys. The intel graphics seems to be the culprit. But I dont eveny use the intel card. I have it fixed on 6770m... Should I individually reinstall the intel driver?
    Any ideas? Thank you!

    Have you made any changes to the startup programs or services lately or installed any patches/updates?

    Just because it's an Intel issue doesn't mean it isn't AMD Drivers.

    In order to use Switchable Graphics the AMD drivers must come prepackaged with an Intel driver (Note that Leshcat shows this by allowing you to choose an Intel driver) Also Services needed by the driver may still run even when the card is not in use as they may be needed at boot or durring graphics switching.

    "igdpmd64.sys" is a kernel mode driver that does look to be a part of the AMD Packaged drivers.

    To fix this issue you should do as follows:
    1. full uninstall of both the AMD and Intel drivers.
    2. restart and allow windows to install any generic vga driver.
    3. it will ask for another restart so restart
    4. ccleaner/driver cleaner and restart
    5. ccleaner again (some files can be released after reboot)
    6. reinstall the HP Generic AMD (this will also reinstall the Intel drivers)
    7. If you wish you can reinstall DNA,Lesh, or AMD 8.95.5

    I pretty much promise that's an Intel driver from the amd package issue. You probably had a bad driver install or an unclean install that caused this to suddenly become an issue (or possibly an update make sure windows knows not to update your AMD drivers if you use modded drivers)!

    If that doesn't work you can try this --> Start>type CMD>right click run as admin. When CMD opens type sfc/ scannow
    This will scan for corruption/errors.

    After that try to reboot and run system diagnostics (although I doubt this is a hardware issues)

    Is there anything in particular that you're doing before the BSOD occurs?
    In order to diag more than that we are going to need the BSOD error code or a screenshot (picture of bsod on monitor) if you can.
    Hope it helps!

    Well I had clead install of Windows when I installed the drivers. I might just remove it and install it again following the steps you provided. But I dont want to do the same thing again. Can the vanilla ATI driver I used as a base be the problem? I used the one from HP site, the 2011-11-18 Version:8.882.2.3000.

    Can you reccomend any other base driver?

    Also it happens when I browse with chrome, but that might not mean anything because I have it always running...

    Even with a clean install of Windows you actually still have 3-4 Drivers to install. Windows Generic VGA>HP AMD/Intel>Modded.
    During any of these a botched driver install can occur due to portions of older drivers being left behind or new portions not being installed.

    For this reason I always install with this method

    Driver>Restart>Ccleaner>Restart>Ccleaner>Next driver>Repeat

    So methods

    1. WinGen>Restart>Clean>Restart>Clean>HP>Restart>Clean>Restart>Clean>DNA>Restart>Clean>Restart>Clean

    I'm extremely OCD when it comes to this though and I also use Registry Mechanic, Spybot SysInternals, and Driver Sweeper whenever using ccleaner to clean out files.
    Alternatively you would probably be fine doing this.

    2. WinGen>Res>Clean>HP>Res>Clean>Dna>Res>Clean

    or even

    3. WinGen>Res>HP>Res>DNA>Res (would not recommend this one personally)

    That way you know its a clean base you're installing on top of.
    Downside is it's time consuming depending on the method you choose... like I said 2 is fine but for reference I always use 1.

    Also Windows likes to update over modded drivers because it views them as out of date/not signed. When it does this it never does a good job at it.
    That's why I always recommend turning auto updates off during driver installs then searching for updates and hiding the AMD updates that pop up and turning Auto Update back on.

    For a recommendation on drivers i'm currently using AMD 8.95.5 Unmodded
    I've Also used DNA 12.2 and Leshcat my favorite being DNA but others prefer Lesh and to be honest they're both great drivers.
    You can use HP Generic but keep in mind that they score around 5300 where as DNA scores around 7200-7300 without an overclock.

    AMD 8.95.5 --> AMD Catalyst? driver version 8.95.5 ~7350
    DNA 12.2.1 --> DNA-AMD GFX 12.2.1-preview | Do Not Argue ~7250
    Leshcat 12.2 --> Leshcat: Catalyst 12.2 WHQL UnifL for Switch Graphics ~6800 (others have scored far more i believe around ~7300)
    HP Generic --> HP AMD/Intel Generic ~5300

    *All scores listed are in my experience and not promised, proven, or even the highest possible.*
    *AMD 8.95.5 Do not require you to disable driver signature enforcement so no need to install Ready Driver Plus*
    *Also when I install drivers I usually install everything included in the HP Driver, others have done just the driver and switchable graphics that works too.*

    Please list all driver info for both cards. Thanks.

    On another note anyone else hear about FutureMark being acquired by Rovio (angrybirds) I'm dreaming of Angry Birds themed tests in the future... Which is weird since I was never really that hooked!
