HP 30% Bing Cashback

If you go to Bing Cashback Stores and select HP it says 2-10%. I hate that, how are you supposed to know what your rate is?

Could you please ad dme to the PM list if bcb shows up? Even if its %20 or better I think that would be worth it.

yeah, I know it is done for this coming weekend. But who knows if they'll throw a deal in before dying.

 

articles reporting that microsoft has gained a lot, but lost a lot in bing leads me to infer that microsoft doesn't want to lose tens of thousands of money anymore from bcb.

 

Well after two full weeks of waiting while Bing "investigated" I got two emails almost simultaneously, the first:

What a crock. Two weeks to figure that out? Congrats to those who got a good outcome out of Bing. Sounds like some people just got lucky while Bing was busy sending stupid, cryptic emails and screwing the rest of us.

 

I'm about to go another round with Bing. I purchased from a different store and didn't get the CB there either. At least this time it's not a lot of money.

Oh no! This is such BS. Some people were able to get the 30% back, others were given free cash cuz Bing messed up. And of course. the majority of us will be screwed.

 

I wonder if I should just go ahead and order an envy 14 with the academic discount or hold out for last minute bingness.

Any suggestions on how to obtain some credit back from HP for this? I had foregone the Academic Discount to try and get the Bing CB. Think they'll give it to me if I explain the situation to them?

you should know stacking bcb with stuff = epic fail lols. best you can do is email/contact HP to remove your academic email from their list or something, so the only discount would be bcb.

 

Wow, what's with the animosity guys? Try reading before commenting: the situation was that I went into the BCB splash with 30%, and by the time I checked out with my order 5 min later, Bing only offered me 5%. So no, liketoks, the problem was not with me but with Bing, who's technical incompetence screwed me over. And I didn't try to stack the BCB with the Academic Discount. I said I had FOREGONE it so that I could get the BCB. For those of you inept in the English language, "foregone" is the past tense of "forego", which means "to abstain for refrain from using". Let me put it in even simpler phrasing, I didn't use my Academic Discount so that my BCB would be legit. I joined NBR because I saw how helpful and courteous the community was. Since when did it fill up with bashing and ridiculing?

on that note, i'm sorry bing effed up dude =/. i heard from slickdeals that people who bought things w/ the 30% overstock BCB also only go 5%.

Thanks for that, harpwned. I was frustrated with the situation and came back on hoping that people would have helpful suggestions only to find some bashing. But I'm going to call HP and see what they can do for me. I'll report back with my progress so it'll hopefully help others. Josh, do you have any updates on your front? I know you're in the same boat as I am.

 

Oh no...So I called into HP and told them my situation. Apparently, when I went in with the BCB of 30%, I didn't sign in with HP because I knew my account had the Academic Discount and I knew it would void BCB. So I configured my laptop and at checkout, when it asked me to sign in and I did, the AD kicked in again. So I got the AD which voided my BCB. Grrr, so basically I am overpaying $300+ because of a technical oversight. Boo. But I did get about $30 credit because HP lowered the price of their Envy 14s this morning. I guess I'm done crying about it on this thread. See you in the Owner's Lounge!

 

aw man, i hate little mistakes like that. if i could have one...well....a number of wishers (lol), i'd wish that i would never make any small mistakes in my life. see i made a little mistake and just missed the 30% BCB cause i refreshed the page (wasn't sure if i logged in).

ah they lowered it another $30? that's $70 total then i believe; they removed $40 for processor upgrades after they removed the 430m too.


well i hope you'll love this laptop that yah paid for out of pocket! at least you don't have to wait anymore =P. as for me, i'll be waiting for BCB till the last day. if that doesn't show up, then i'll have to wait for discounts up to mid-august.....then from there, either the dm4t or envy 14 =/.

As for me, I had my Envy 14 sent home so I had my brother take a look at it and he says, cosmetically, it's perfect. But I'll have to take a look at it with a more discerning eye.

 

mannn....seeing HP got greedy makes me think i shouldn't get an hp at all.......i wish somehow i could've link with ya the moment u saw the bcb so i could've caught it too. now they super overpriced the e14 and i don't think they're going back or giving coupons. sigh.

Soon. I want to leave it open for a bit for those who have outstanding issues with the now defunct program. They can follow up and let us know the outcomes or share advice for success. Or just vent.
