    HP 30% Bing Cashback

    It appears I'm around 24 hours ahead in this process to those of you in a similar situation with Bing. Hopefully this will give you hope!

    It now shows up in my account and the confirmation email has arrived as well!!

    What is the best method to send Bing the HP order confirmation page via screen capture? I have it in screen capture as a jpeg, but the Bing browse file window says the file type is not supported when I enter it to attach it to my message. Also - is it necessary to send a copy of the Bing cashback email back to them for verification? Surely they already have access to that. They never directly answer the questions that I ask.

    Now that I read back, your situation is completely different than the one that some of us are having. I guess you had bought your laptop while still under 30% but had not received confirmation that you indeed were getting the 30%. The issue some of us are having is that we entered HP's website when Bing stated 30%, but upon checkout, found out that they posted 5%. I'm glad that things worked out for you and was hopeful that it would also shed light on our problem, but now I'm not so sure. Thanks for keeping us updated on your progress though!

    "We apologize for any confusion and inconvenience this has caused you. We have re-credited your missing purchase from HP to your Bing cashback account, pending merchant approval. The purchase can take up to 48 hours to reflect in your cashback account. Please be advised that there will be a 30-days mandatory waiting period for cashback that was re-credited to a cashback account."

    Kinda confused on that last bit, so are they saying it can be 48hours-30days?

    No, there saying it could take up to 48 to show up in your account as pending, then another 30 days before you can have the money sent to you.

    Just wanted to give you guys an update: 5 emails, and 6 bing forum posts later, 5% was changed to 30%, $622.49 on its way! Good luck to the rest of you guys, don't give up and stay on them and you will get it.

    My guess is 60 max, they will probally start it from the day of purchase, thats what they did with mine, so you'll probally have like 56 days until you can the money.

    I'm so jealous of you guys. I had the $50 coupon listed when I e-mailed bing and they just e-mailed me back that it won't do, so now I gotta see if I can get it removed by HP and e-mail bing an updated price.

    I was one of those who clicked on the 30% link but received 5% in my e-mail. I really hope this goes through.

    Did they send you an email to update, or did the right amount just show up? When did they fix it? I haven't heard a thing since Friday, I assumed they don't work over the weekend, but they fixed your cashback over the weekend?

    Yeah, I checked, it's been 4 days since their last contact with me. That can't be a good sign. :(

    Yeah they sent me an email update saying it was changed including the standard "you've got cashback!" email from bing over the weekend.

    Even though bing doesn't have the best customer service, it's strange they haven't responded in 4 days. Try shooting them another email.

    I've emailed them twice since the last time they emailed me. Maybe they're just busy getting it fixed for me. :p If it worked out for you, I assume they should be able to solve it for me as well.

    Hey Guys, I posted this in the Quasi official thread, but didn't see this thread, maybe you guys would have some advice... I am tempted to wait and see if I get the money back just because BCB ends in just 9 days:

    Got a BCB question for you guys.

    I was part of the group that clicked on the link that said 5% and the popup showed 30% when we logged in, but only received 5% in my BCB account.

    I opened a ticket with Bing and they replied 2 days later saying sorry, you can only get 5% back. Not wanting to hassle with them more, I called HP to cancel my order since I didn't really want $1900 sitting on my credit card. They informed me they would try to cancel it, but based on what stage of production it was in the chances were slim they could.

    In the mean time I decided to talk to Bing some more since it looked like I was getting the laptop. Last night I received a message from HP stating my order was canceled, and you guessed it, this morning Bing wrote me and said I was credited the full 30%. :eek: :eek:

    My question to you guys is what can I do at this point, I called HP and said there was nothing I could do from there end, and I'd have to contact Bing and explain the situation. Before I did that I wanted to ask your guys opinion since I don't know much about BCB.

    My BCB now shows 2 things:
    The original 5%

    and a customer service refund of the balance (25% of original purchase)

    So right now I have a couple of options I guess:
    • Email Bing to see if they will apply the refund to a new order
    • See if they don't cancel the ~$450 refund since it has a different purchase ID, order the laptop in 55 days once I get the refund

    I am worried if I contact Bing they will just say "Sorry, out of luck!"

    What do you guys think my odds are?

    Yikes, that's tough, Pound. I think in this case, I would go ahead and ask Bing if they would apply that CB to a new order cuz either way, they'll probably cancel the CB once they realize that you cancelled the HP order.

    The 30% Bing CB popped up for a couple days and only for a few short hours each day. You'll have to be vigilante if you want to catch it IF it comes up again.

    Yeah, it was 6 days between the time I got my 3rd escalation email and when I got the above email, which was 2 days ago. Seems like they are taking care of it for everyone they're just really slow to get to it...

    is there any difference between the cashback icon when we search hp on bing (because i cant see the icon anymore) or can we just go to bing.com/cashback

    Usually you get the deals by searching at bing.com. The bing.com/cashback stores % usually is much lower.

    Still waiting also. Just got yet another email from yet another Escalation Specialist, Niel. Also, this one says, "Dear Josh," at the beginning, but further down the email says, "Thank you, Kristopher, for working with Bing cashback Customer Support."

    The email says they have all the information they need, but need more time to complete the investigation...

    It appears that I finally got positive resolution. After 12 days of detailed messages on my part, followed by sporadic, cryptic responses on their part, it appears to be sorted.

    So I guess I'm not the only one either. I asked a straight forward question and took four back and forth round trip emails to get the simple "yes" or "no" answer I was looking for.

    I'm glad everyone else is getting things handled. I just hope they hurry up and follow through. I'm sick of waiting.

    But think positively, only a week left, so after that you can sleep until, oh, 8:15? ;)

    It's stuff like this that I really hate. I was fortunate to get in on the 30% BCB. But they shouldn't make it so stressful. I mean people have lives to live, and just because you're slaving away at your job, you can't buy a laptop when the deal pops up for only a few hours?

    well it really is my own fault i missed both bcbs. i missed the second one cause i refreshed the window cause i wasn't sure if i logged in (about 5 min afterward, looking for CC lol).

    it really isn't their fault, especially when push comes to pull at this point, with the release date and the program end dates. i committed to waiting for this deal and i'm reaping the pains and fatigue of it; i can't stay awake past 12:30 everyday now haha.

    i just really hope my tiresome waiting won't go to waste....so please, just one more bcb (that i won't miss)!!!

    otherwise, i don't need to order till mid-august. maybe HP will be nice and give $300 off + coupons for the dm4t/envy 14?
