Can anyone tell me if i can change my shipping mode to Next business day shipping, and how much will it cost.
-
I believe someone said all computers ordered from their site (customized or not) take 5-6 days to ship. -

HP Customer Support is so lost on this topic, took them ages to check their resources and still couldnt give me a satisfactory answer. I LL APPRECIATE ALL THE HELP.
cheers to Dv 3 -
Hey guys before i buy the dv3t, I have a couple questions.
Does it get uncomfortably hot?
How much is the battery life affected by the dedicated card?
Is the fan noisy at all? (how would this be affected by the dedicated card?)
Also, can you use a SATAII ssd in this? -
I think this is the first official review out there:

Is it just me, Windows 7, finger print reader, or my firefox that is makes me have to log into anything over and over again.
For example - if I swipe my finger print to log into yahoo mail w/"remember me" option selected, it doesn't work. Each time I visit, or perhaps go to standby and come back, I have to login again. This is the same for every site I go to: notebookreview, fatwallet, yahoo mail, etc etc...
is this a security feature on Win 7? Or is this my fingerprint reader software? Or is this firefox (i doubt it's firefox). How to disable this? -
-
how weird is that chick by the way

I ordered on June 14. HP roughly build notebooks like these on average in 5 days. My status to this moment is "Order dropped off at the factory," which means it's about to undergo the production process. HP usually has a 10-day production estimate just in case orders are more than usual.
No need to be anxious. I know some who have the dv3t and have used it myself. It's a great machine, so I bought it just hours before the coupon expired. You'll enjoy it very much! -
-
-
Any guesses as to when the next coupon will come out? How often do they usually arise?
-
There are some out now, but not as good. 30% off come and go all the time, and very frequently. I'd say every 2-3 weeks or so...
-
And the music to top it off.... -
Alright, I'm more or less certain that this is my next laptop. However, just a few questions:
- Does HP ship overseas? On the Australian HP store:
http://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Product.aspx?pdetail=P76159&pid=C64657&
There seems to be little to no customization options, and I'm not sure whether coupons work. Is it worth it to import, and do HP do that?
- Are there any really good photos comparing white and black colour? Perhaps I should just try and see them in real life?
- Is there a noticeable difference between the 2.53 and 2.4 GHz P series processors?
- The infinity screen seems like a gimmick. Is this true? -
As far the processor, the only difference between the P8600 & P8700 is the clock speed, the 2.4GHz should be perfectly fine for most uses. personally I wouldnt go for the infinity screen, the clear glass/plastic makes the reflections from the glossy screen even worse. -
Right, so the infinity screen is a gimmick, and I probably don't need to angst too much that the Australian HP store doesn't have the 2.53 CPU. Thanks miner.
Does anyone know any coupons for the Australian store? I'd really love to save several hundred dollars. -
Does HP offer any student discounts for this computer? Also, does anyone have a guess at how long the free upgrades will be offered?
I'm pretty sure this is the laptop I want but I probably won't be able to get it until late July/early Augest. -
-
most i've seen is 30%... what have you seen that's bigger?
-
By the way, I read a review on the dv3500t and there were apparently some issues in the build quality sector. Can anybody comment on this? Any flex? Feel cheap?
(I'm wondering specifically about the dv3t) -

used 30% off coupon and 15% cash back from bing
if you are looking to get 2.4Ghz, and don't want to wait for another 30% off coupon, there are actually pretty good deals on ebay. use a 10% off coupon from ebay (i.e. CPPEBAY2324), plus 8% from bing, 2.4Gz+4G RAM+geforce card could be right around $800. -

Still wondering ... WHY NO BACKLIT KEYBOARD on the moonlight white version.
CANT WAIT FOR MY LAPTOP, IT STILL SAYS ORDER IN PRODUCTION. Wish they offered more detailed stauts. -
@soccer.
Indeed! Not to mention the reviewer didn't even have one of the better processors on the test model. -
I'm returning my dv4t and getting the dv3t once I'm credited back my money and a good coupon comes out. I really like the dv4t, but I still wanted something smaller, and I wanted to change some specs. From looking at everything, the dv3t seems like it would make a good replacement.
-
Just to have you know, the 13' isn't that much smaller at all. Think about it, dv3t is a 13.3 and I believe the 4t is at 14.1. It may very well run cooler or what not, but if you have the dedicated tv tuner on the 4t that you like, you do lose out by switching.

Got mine a couple days ago, love it so far

This machine definitely has me excited though. -

Just to say that I'm real impressed with this laptop, since it is the only 13" notebook I've seen that comes with a Blue-Ray option while others default at DVD standard. Hope HP bumps the RAM options to a DDR3 one and adds Firewire in the near future.
-
Of course watching for close outs is always good.
For some reason HP dropped the DV3Z (AMD version) a few months ago. Lots of brand new ones on eBay selling for cheap ! -
Howitzer225 Death Company Dreadnought
I just received an email about a coupon where you can get the dv3t @ $250 off if you configure it to $999.99 or higher. Use the code NB9084 when checking out at the HP website.
-
Hey everyone. A friend recommended me to this site. I'm about to order an HP DV3T for college
Does anybody have any suggestions for me or coupon codes?
-
You can pick up a PC Card to FreWire adapter on eBay cheap. -

It's still good to have eSATA as a standard feature on the HP laptops, since it allows for higher transfer speeds than your regular USB 2.0 connection (Can't wait for the USB 3.0 though) I'd really fret if they don't have one (As with the case of the new U series of ASUS...no firewire, no esata
) But I guess that with Firewire handy enough to be fitted on to a PC Card, it's not that of deal breaker isn't it?

USB 3.0 is bound to be out by 2010, but I think we'll see it in high-end notebooks first and maybe another year or so before it gets to the mainstream market. But the max speed of 5 Gbit/s by the 3.0 is really spectacular. Frankly, I'm satisfied with the speed of 2.0, but I'm always thinking it could be always faster.
At least the PC card will let me have Firewire.
Hope HP incorporates the new 200M series GPUs to the DV3T (I'm betting it to be either a 210M or a 230M). I recall this is one of the few models sporting the 100M series when they first came out, while other notebooks are still left with 9 series.
Anyone know about other DV3T coupons than the one I posted? -
I'm satisfied with 2.0 speeds too. I think the biggest disappointment with 3.0 is the necessity of a new port.
