Possible... but I think it's less of a given, seeing as just about every other 15.6" laptop offered a 1080p display before HP finally added the option. :p

I keep refreshing the page every five minutes crossing my fingers! Dell did the same thing with the XPS 15z. I think they finally put the page up around now, though..

Just got off the phone with HP, asking if the website was just behind. No such luck, the rep didn't even have a time frame for when it might become available. Look's like F5's across the country will be begging for mercy.

I don't know anyone posted it or not, but I think choice of 6630 is pretty obvious to me, it is lower clocked 6650, actually core clocked at 485 mhz which is 35 mhz faster than envy's 5650 and 80 shaders more. I can overclock my envy's 5650 up to 550 mhz, but it burns like hell and portal 2 crashes. 6630 is not a major step ahead of 5650 but still you'll get like 500 marks more in 3dmark 06

HP Brings Style, Performance and Portability to Notebook PCs

"The HP ENVY 14 starts at $999.99 and is expected to be available on June 15."

This is NOT a confirmation that it will come out on June 15, HP clearly states that is it expected to, however. So maybe they realized that radiance screens are a must in this market and are now set for a new release date? Which would be a good.... and bad thing.. because I want a new laptop today :D

Maybe I should just pull the trigger on the MBP 15" today.

I'd say "expected" is just to cover themselves for any unsuspected delays. If there were a delay or something we to be pushed back I'm sure they would say something. At least on a corporate level.

You do have a point. They would have probably made an announcement weeks ago if it was due to a hardware issue or something else.

I'm just confused as to why they have not released them yet.

Maybe i'm just not patient enough lol.

I just want to see the new specs before I buy the MBP 15" today. If they have the radiance display than forget the MBP 15", i'll save some money and buy the Envy 14.

Naw that is not the case, they will not push back the date by adding radiance screens. The malaysian envy has been out already without the radiance screen. And if they were to add them, they definitely would not have to push back the release date. They can just add it like they did last time.

hopefully the coupon is to get the new refresh sales flowing fast out of the gate and not a "were sorry we missed the June 15 refresh date, but here's a little something in return to make amends"

Yep all the HP coupons on logic buy expire the 17th, so maybe we're looking at a Friday or Monday release date now ^_^ Delayed release date and lack of radiance oh boi they're off to get a great start.

Coupon is for the old envy 14.

LOL of course they will refresh the line lmao it just might not be today.

It would be odd to release a coupon for a laptop they haven't even tried to sell yet. Perhaps they are delaying it a few days for those who don't know a refresh is very close and the coupon will spur last minute sales.

$800-$1000 is a huge point, especially considering they should have comparable performance.

Don't get me wrong, I'm on a MacBook myself at the moment. I love the Mac user interface. But it can be largely emulated by running Ubuntu and some free software such as Docky. Ubuntu is free, HP laptop is $800+ less than 15in MacBook Pro. The only things you're missing out on are a few pixels on the screen and some nice OS X-only video editing software. If you had been considering the Envy 14, you should gather a bit more patience to wait a few days, in my opinion.

I disagree. Apple deserves your money for having their $hit together while HP doesn't. Iphone + Macbook Pro is a great tech combo to have really.

The thing is, consumer products are a small part of HP's business. Whereas it's most of Apple's. HP dwarfs Apple BY FAR in the corporate and business world.

Consumers are finicky and susceptible to change much more easily than a corporation. Apple MUST continue to make its products appealing and innovative to keep on selling them.

So I think HP just does not care so much about us small consumers, even though they did hit a homerun with the Envy 14 radiance last year.

why ? iPhone works just as well on a PC ... I don't think iPhone Mac users have any extra perks over iPhone PC users ?

I just called a sales representative at HP to ask when the Envy 14's would refresh. She made me hold to ask someone higher up and came back and said HP isn't ready to refresh yet and now plans to release the full (she specifically said 2nd-gen processors) refresh in about a month - mid to late July.

Man I hope this is wrong...

Think guys! Envy 14 with Sandy Bridge could come out early this year, but did not. Why? Because HP becomes better and better friend with AMD and the new Envy will be equipped with AMD Llno A8 Dual Graphics. You will get more graphics performance with less heat ;).

Apparently Llano has integrated graphics nearly as good as the 6630. But I know better than to jump on immature technology like that. Better to wait for Trinity.

THAT would be cool. Llano's graphics can be used as crossfire so it's not just a 6630m. AMD says that the dual graphics can boost GPU performance by 70%. I can see a huge boost at the chart above!!! Probably around 50% boost.

Llano's quad cores probably won't be as fast as SB quads. But still very capable. Plus it has great battery life with less heat. Nice all-round package.

I would get a Llano Envy 14 if it existed.

The stats for the Llano dv6 seem pretty interesting. It says the intergrated and discrete GPUs can run in crossfire.

Just called hp sales and asked for the new Envy 14. The guy said that they will have a online promotion on the newer model Envy 14 - 2001 this coming friday which is tomorrow so I guess it is coming out. I'm currently located in Malaysia and the model they listed on the website is Envy 14 - 2000 so fingers crossed that the specs are different.
