Don't tempt me; I work a profoundly slow desk job where I basically get paid to surf the internet, and my spam-fu skills can surprise even the most powerful of banhammers :p

It should be that if you are denied, you are given the chance to enter an alternate form of payment. Don't really know.

Worse come to worse, you can always cancel the order if you find that they charged your CC.

Oh wait, it was you who took the site down for a few hours two weeks ago? Wasn't it? Yeah, yeah it was you...

(Takes name out of random ban bowl, blow dries it, and puts it back but on the top.)

Well, I can tell you that I definitely notice the difference with 8 gigs versus 4 when gaming, and especially when heavily multi-tasking.

Screen size is a matter of personal comfort. If you're asking about the number of pixels on the screen, lord yes its only a few pixels fewer than my desktop 20" display. Personally, I plan on playing SC2 and L4D2 on this laptop, and I don't think the 14.5" screen will be a problem, but I also have very good eyes to wear out by starting at it.

You can't, per se. But what you can do is upload it to imageshack or some other free image hosting site.

If the size is right, you can upload to this site by using the attachment feature.

See the manage attachment button when you make a post. (Doesn't show up in quick reply, only reply to thread.)

Does HP block the ability to OC the graphics card? The 5650 should be able to get OCed well.

Well, because, sweatshops are a very sensitive subject for me considering I do this mod bit but for a few cookies per month. Overcooked cookies mind you. With trans fat and aspartame. And no chocolate chips.

    No chocolate chips!

So that issue is a bit too close to my heart. I can only ask for your empathy.

    Thank you for your consideration.

I too struggled with such things my whole life...

Kay sorry, anyways. Envy 14. Uhmmm.

(actually seriously thought,) does anyone have any pictures of how much better a radiance or an hd screen is compared to a normal one?

Core speed is a function of the multiplier. However bus speed is a function of the PLL chip. There may be a way to overclock the bus which in turn overclocks the CPU and RAM. Sometimes it can achieved with software but usually with a pin mod to the PLL.

How hard is it to change a graphics card for a nicer one?

If its soldered into the mobo can some one who is absolutely professional switch it out for a new one??

My company just did a merger and I didn't realize but the scientists who moved in the back are phenomenal engineers.

I couldn't get a picture of it all, but it was a screen with nothing around it, a mobo, a graphics card all connected by just wires playing a dvd... O_O

Yes. Requires soldering skill and basic understanding of electronics. But someone usually will figure it out and post a pictorial of how to do it. (But said skills are still required.) Problem is, HP not only is notorious for using TME lock PLL chips, but when you overclock your RAM, you may need to change the timings which requires the RAM's BIOS to be updated via flashing.

It's tricky business. But it has been done successfully with Santa Rosa, Penryn and Montevina platforms.

There's a lot involved as the GPU is soldered to the mobo. Even if the new GPU (not a card as a card would be MXM) is pin compatible to the old. You would have to mod the BIOS for new voltage levels and GPU ID. Then you would likely need to mod the cooling system to be a bit more robust.

This may be old news but after waves of OT posts, I couldn't search no more...

    Amazon Pre-Order:
Has changed the technical spec from 1600x900 back to 1366x768. Me thinks they got confirmation that the models they will be selling is not a 1600x900 screen.

Will now be be purchasing directly from HP at the end of July.
