I don't think they will have a fix personally. They say they will in the future, but I don't believe them.

Regarding Windows 8, why are you waiting? If you are really lucky you'll still be able to get one with 7. I haven't read one review that has favoured a switch to 8 yet.

I got a vista laptop from hp a few years back with the free windows 7 upgrade. WEll let me tell you after you do the proper motions to obtain the free windows 7 upgrade you wait 2 full months for the DVD in the mail. I learned my lesson. SO i am not willing to buy a windows 7 now and wait 2 more months for windows 8.

The initial impressions of W8 aren't positive. I'm not sold on it just yet. W7 is pretty awesome. I don't want a touchscreen.

I'm in the same boat as you. The last thing I'd ever want to do it raise my hand and touch a screen... especially if I'm eating KFC. ;)

any idea how to engage the 3D viewing?
I connected the ac adapter to the laptop, tried to play a 3d movie (.mkv file) with media player classic HC and put on the 3D glasses (with plastic battery flap removed) but there's no 3D mode. the video still shows 2 screens side by side in 2D mode.

You need to make sure your player supports 3D and I don't think Windows Media Player does.. I use Cyberlink PowerDVD 12 Ultra (upgraded from PowerDVD 10), and there is the 3D button on the bottom of the screen.. If you do not want to pay for the upgrade, than just use the PowerDVD 10 that came with your Envy (if it is a 2nd or 3rd gen Envy)... The 3D will work like a charm even if the movie is not 3D, PowerDVD 12 will convert the movie to 3D, not sure if version 10 does that or not...

    Good Luck!

I guess from looking at HP.com (have they dropped this model now?) we are never going to see a fix for this.

Thanks HP for this, 2k euro well spent.

Well I just got this 3290nr laptop new from Amazon last week, and I'm seeing that there's "Windows host process (Rundll32) Bluetooth" in the Notification Area Icons.
