That's the problem. Need PC2-5300. Which is 667mhz RAM. Santa Rosa chipset only supports 533mhz and 667mhz RAM.

The 800Mhz RAM(PC2-6400) will downclock in the HDX to 667mhz. That's likely to cause timing issues especially over 4GB. Also requires more power to run than 8GB of PC-5300.

Sell 'em on eBay or return them and get PC-5300 RAM.

I went ahead and ended my auction because

#1. I've been spending alot of time with Badunka and 20.1" of screen real estate is great

    #2. I sold the M6500 today locally.

#3. I've been looking over the data from numerous wprime32 benchmark runs I've conducted over the last few weeks between my desktop 920, laptop chips (920xm, 720qm, x9000, 620m) and the results are pretty sweet. The X9000 data is from the HDX I had up for sale but I just can't part with it right now when it is pulling down i7-620M type performance.

Each has their own criteria, but to me, a system isn't stable unless it can pass at least an hour of Prime95 max thread, max heat.

As expected 3.2 can run all day and night with no Vcore changes.
    3.4 @ 1.25
    3.6 @ 1.35
    3.8 @ 1.3875

All passed the prime test. Fan does kick up @ 3.6 a smidge (but doesn't enter that "special land"), but temps stay ~73 and lower (no cooling mat or anything) once the fans get to work. 76-78 @ 3.8/1.3875.

I can bench up to 4.0ghz @ 1.3875v, but for me, 3.6ghz is the sweet spot for 24/7 usage in regards to noise. I can run 3.8ghz @ 1.3875 24/7 with a slight increase in noise.

These are the best results I've achieved from 2 SLAQJ and 4 SLAZ3's. I kept the best performing one (SLAZ3) of the lot to collect all the displayed X9000 data and using now. One of the SLAQJ was atrocious. Not that all SLAQJs are bad performers, but the one I had bonked out in an NP5793 @ 3.2ghz and repeated the same feat in the HDX. It only ran steady at [email protected].

    The SLAZ3 I kept is the only one that will pass Prime95 max heat/power for 3.2ghz @ stock, 3.4 @ 1.25 and 3.6 @ 1.35, 3.8 @ 1.3875 while also benching at 3.8 @ 1.35 and 4.0 @ 1.3875.

I jotted down my own personal findings with Wprime and ghetto snipped it along with the 4ghz run.

Cleaning it out, new fan + MX-3 really helped bring the temps down.

I may push the VID/FID and see what I can get north of the 4.0ghz border. I don't know where these results/temps/stability rank in the pantheon of X9000's, but squeezing this type of i7-620M'esque performance out of the X9000 and having WoW run like a champ on 20.1" of real estate means I'm really pleased with the performance of this chip.

After using it for a few hours last night, I think I'll stick with 3.6ghz @ 1.35. The noise is about the same as 3.4ghz and outside of trying to beat it with a stick with Prime95 for stress testing, the temps never went over 67 playing WoW and it was basically dead quiet doing everything else.

    Attention:

GPU driver 258.96 WHQL x64 "causes me grave error.
    Win7Pro OS x64.

    Impact: BSOD or freeze OS.
Rarely the only GPU driver crash. Then, is via the service "NVIDIA Display Driver Service" restoration. (If active)

    Special circumstances for fault activation:
This error will occur in Battery operation very quickly.
My Activity - Internet surfing. The IE was the only running program.
But even in AC he enters. Here, however, rather rare and poorly reproducible.

    Note:
Had only the Intel SSD and the "Intel (R) Rapid Storage 9.6.4.1002" suspected.
But even under "9.6.0.1014" came to this problem.
Only a downgrade was on GPU driver 257.21 again a stable system.
Whether an error correlation between SSD and 258.96 WHQL is, I'll test it.
A test on Vista x32 and this driver on SSD and HDD is also carried out soon. I post the results then.

Thank you for your attention! ;)

I tried the driver too, and suddenly my screen's brightness went to 1/5 of what it was and everything turned red!
Now I have reinstalled 257.21 too.
258.96 is not a good driver in my opinion

Edit: OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Any advice for the 'Adjust GPU settings' in the Nvidia Control Panel, since we've been chattin a lot about overclockin the CPU with Throttlestop why not see what we can get out of the 8800 with it's own software? Any advice would be nice :)

By the way, running my CPU at 3.7ghz, 3.4vid When gaming :) noticing a much nicer frame rate in GTA 4 benchmark and in main game :)

Under Windows Vista HP x32 on SSD, I had until now no OS crash.

Worked for about two hours in Battery operation and everything is going well.
Installed Driver: 258.96 Beta (there is a difference to the WHQL)

    More tests to follow ...

Funny, I was just going to comment on this in the driver thread. This driver (and all of the 25x series) sucks. The best I can tell, the whole series hates the 8800...not just my take, folks over at LV2Go seem to have problems on 8800, 9800, 280, 285....imagine, GPU's with the same chipset.

At first I thought it was good. Loaded it up and ran 3dMark06, got my highest score yet, stock. Overclocked and went to run the program and it black screened on me as soon as I opened the program. Did the same thing twice more, both times surfing the net. As far as I could tell, everything was running, the screen just went black. Reverted back to 197.45.

Thank you for your feedback! :)
Was this a total system crash? (Black screen)
You had to perform a hard reset? (Power button for 3 seconds hold)

    Note:
Had just finished SSD OS system. Installed the 258.96 WHQL on this system disk. Predriver 258.96 Beta.
This (Beta) is running but also to my other five system disk, and there has been no mistake.
That's why I immediately had the SSD as a source of error in the eye.
Thank God the driver but it seems to lie. A reinstalling the 258.96 beta on SSD but also produced this error.
Had not noticed it before simply because HDX was running on AC. Battery was under immediate black screen.
Strange that under Vista 32 so far made no crash.
3DMark06 shows since the 197ern a slight drop point. However, the latency behavior of 256 drivers of the family is much better.

    @2.0 and Corrosive

I preferred the 6:03 and had installed this version on Vista and Win7.
The only reason was the better system view and the more manageable NSU-profile files.
On a system disk, however, were still installed 6.06. When working with this record, I noticed the switch between the profiles much faster.
So I wanted to uninstall the 6.03 on the other plates. This cost me two days of my life. Also "this" and "this" helped more is not really.
I had to really do it all by hand and clean up the registry also by hand.
Before giving a warning only 6.03 on Win7.

A registry cleaner program but I decline.

    @ Corrosive and other interested

To overclock, there is also the "NVIDIA Inspector 1.90 - Tool".
This is no installation required. Unfortunately there are no profiles and
after a restart, it must be terminated.
In any overclocking or downklocking no voltage adjustment is possible.
This is the HDX-locked Nvidia bios. Powermitzer has until now only the power Clocks "under 500Mhz with 0.9V copiers. (From 383Mhz to 200Mhz)
That is, not a real downklocking is possible. Voltage is yes, then to 1.00 V.
This also slightly higher GPU idle temp (about +3 degrees C).

To view the temperature, the current frequency and voltage, I use "GPU Observer - Sidebar Gadget 3.6".

GPU frequency to control the run with me "NVIDIA System Tools with ESA Support 6.06".

    There are other Orbmu2k Gadges.

And to consider here is a tool for the controller to AHCI. At the same time for SSD's ability to display the trim. (Trim ready and brush on the drive).
EXE only, no installation required. (Trim ready and brush on the drive)

RickiBerlin SSD's selection (for still undecided)
Only very briefly and only for larger than 128 GB SSD. (Due to dual-boot)

Since the appear of the first SSD's I deal with this issue.
The initial controller problems, I always held before a purchase of this technique. In 2010, my choice was decided by the SSD controller.

my preselection: (I know all the SSD's, but these were considered only for me)

    1. Sand Force 1200 Controller SSD's
    - ADATA S599 Series SATA II 2.5 "SSD" 200GB (F100 test here)
    - "OCZ's Vertex 2 E" or "OCZ Agility 2 E" 240GB
    - "Corsair's Force F240 (F120 test here) Identical Vertex 2 E

    2. Various SSD 'with different controllers
    - "Solidata K5-128 GB (glittering prize for an SLC SSD) - for me then too small
    - "Samsung 256GB SSD MMDOE56G5MXP-0VB - Firmware Update too complicated (see) and then deleted system
    - "Crucial's RealSSD C300" 256GB (SATA 6Gbps for possibly next laptop) - no controllers available long-term experience
    - "Intel X25-M G2 160 GB" - here I saw the fewest problems

    3. Announced new SSD's
    - 25nm Intel SSD still waiting in 2010 "160, 300 and 600GB - too long
    - "Samsung 512 GB SSD 30nm" when it? -Too long

To 1. Did the OCZ Vertex 2 E 240GB already ordered almost. The Sandforce Controller was really very good advertised.
But if one sees through the user forums, there are serious problems. (Total failures are not uncommon)
The write rate breaks a strong case already compressed files, and thus lost the advantage over the Intel controller.
I also did not want a clipped 1200 Controller. (1500 only in the range Enterprises)

    My conclusion:
After two years of intensive work and hundreds of reports from reviews and user forums worldwide Intel has become my choice. However, this is only my opinion!
I'm with the "Intel X25-M G2 160 GB" very satisfied and have not regretted the purchase.
Here fit comfortably up to two OS and all software. (149 GB formatted)
My writing rate is sequentially at 106 MB / s read and 248 MB / s.
Even after 14 days of continuous operation there was no change.
Free space after Vista and Win7 cloning 56GB.
Aligment by cloning not a problem.
Windows7 performance index 7.6. (Of course only for hard drive)

Sorry to those who will not want to know everything. Yes I know, this is the HDX Forum. ;)
    That's it ...

Sorry, I am again. (Now times without signature) :D
Here is a WARNING before "QuickPlay 3.7 (7508)".
    Exact File Name: "HP-CNB.v7508_1507_HQP091012-02_Normal.exe"
    This version contains some bugs.
One of them, for example, the sound selection from DVD / BD.
Is here again, "SPIDF" is selected, there is no turning back.
There are also several other errors, which I will not go into detail.
Innovations or performance improvements are not already included.
    End

Edit: My current version is QuickPlay 3.7 (6310) under Vista HP x32 and Win7Pro x64

Remove the system monitor and system update. Then reinstall the prior version of system tools you used before (just the performance, uncheck the other two). If it installs, then uninstall it again. Reboot. Then install the version of system tools you want.

May not work though. That happened to me once but I used "your uninstaller" trial version to get rid of everything using the above method. Took a few tries, I recall that.

Revo Uninstaller has a free version and it works equally well, though you need to be very painstaking if you use the most thorough uninstall method.
It has different levels of uninstallation thoroughness.

Hi! new to the forum just thought I'd see what SSD you guys would recommend installing so I can get the most out of my HDX 9108XT. I have currently got it running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Wanting to run Adobe CS5.
    Thanks in advance!

Intel or OCZ (Vertex or Vertex 2). Look a page back and you can see some recommendations that RickiBerlin posted.

I too am curious. I am currently playing Mass Effect 2 and SC2 is my next planned game. MS2 runs like butter BTW all setting max.

    FCPGA478.

Yes T9500 fits. T9300, T9500 and X9000 are your upgrade choices.

Arma2 Arrowhead standalone, is night and day from the original v. 2. I'd really like to see what Crysis2 will be like on the dragon.

OCZ LE 100gb will give you wei score of 7.8-7.9!! Haven't tried the bigger ones, and this was last scored a few months ago.

Why do you want a T9500 when you could get an X9000 and overclock it to 3.4-3.6ghz? They are harder to come by but still.. I have the 9500 and want the X9000 myself.

    Price perhaps? Besides from a T8100, a T9500 is a >25% improvement.

    Price ;)

PM me when you sell it.

BTW I've tried ThrottleStop and got the multiplier 11,5 so my t8100 worked with 2300mhz
    Is it possible with t9500?
