hey people, i'm attaching some pictures of a laptop hp will be releasing in a few months time. my friend who knows some designers there passed them along and i guessed some people would be interested in seeing. i don't know much about it other than it's gonna be a big ol' 20" screen notebook, the new intel processors, for gamers and have a ton of ports and media options.

    enjoy :p :p :p

oops, couldn't attach them all, one more, check out the dragon swirly pattern update they've added to the imporint finish. forgot to say b4, it's called the HP Pavilion HDX and i think Voodoo helped them with this.

I went ahead and merged the two posts so that all the attachments were together.

Might I ask WHERE you got this excellent find? Edit: I see where...can you get any other info for us? Anything from HP/Voodoo like this is definitely worthy of a news story if we get enough.

    20 INCHES?
    Holy crap, that's freakn' huge!
And with remote control enclosed within the laptop, sweet....
Is that the finger scan reader I'm seeing on the top center?

Wonder how much that will cost...

Woah, look at that, treble and bass adjustment on a laptop? It certainly seems like this would need a 20" chassis to house a controller, keyboard AND number pad. That's crazy. I'm not totally sure what the benefit of having a control take up all that space by sitting there is, but neat looking all the same.

If you could find out any graphics card info (you mentioned it's a gaming laptop) that would be pretty great. It's safe to assume they'd put the Santa Rosa chipset in this, unless they wanted to cripple it. I'd assume Blu-Ray, HDMI and all the other multi-media goodies would be part of the package too.

And look at that anchor / battery they've got on the back. The weight has to be horrendous.

If it is lighter than the M2010 and has better than a X1800, then HP'll have a winner on their hands.

They should fix that right shift key and make it full sized. Why can't they do it like before? Have the arrow keys stick down a bit.

Hey ac2816, You don't know anyone who knows the designers for this product. I don't know how you got these images but the HP police are already on the beat. I would tell you that you better start covering your tracks, but that would be a waste of time.

wow kungfu you registerd just to say that...... WRONG.....

ANYWAY if HP where hunting him down (if this is truly legit pic's) they should be thanking him... i was going to go with Sager but if this is released sometime soon im going to stick with HP (as long as their cooling solution for the GPU/CPU doesn't SUCK like it does in the DV9000 series)

KICK A$$ is all i have to say about the looks (on a side note if anyone from HP is listening.. remove the remote eject button from in between the KYBD and the Remote and put it above or below the remote and GIVE US A NORMAL SIZED RIGHT SHIFT.... 2nd most annoying HP Feature...)

I would checkout NotebookItalia.com for your leak source, HP seems to be leaking like a sieve with the amount of images they're posting on that site for upcoming HP notebooks. Seems like there's a mole there.

Just saw this HP Pavilion HDX 12 lbs 20" monster at Engadget, and I like what I see.

Funny enough I'm also excited by news about the HP Compaq 2710p 3.64 lbs 12" convertible tablet, as I've been wanting a Santa Rosa replacement for my aging ThinkPad ultraportable tablet (and Lenovo hasn't announced anything yet).

So I guess across the whole spectrum of laptops, I'm becoming more impressed with HP.

I would like to know how much it is going to be, and most importantly, what video card is in the system. Without a DX10 video card, and I would be shocked if they didn't have a high-end in it, its not worth getting.

Knowing HP, they will screw up somewhere to prevent it from being the perfect laptop though.

Dont get me wrong, that looks like an awesome laptop, but it already has a few flaws just from looking at the pics.

I don't see myself carrying around 15.5 pounds of laptop (throw in the weight of the bag, cord, and a few CDs and you're looking at lugging around 20 lbs.).

To me, having a really great GPU that maybe wouldn't work in a 17" model would be the big benefit to this. Otherwise, personally I'd rather have a 17" (or 15") and use an external monitor.

Hopefully it won't be a repeat of Dell's strange situation where the 20" model is lower end than the 17" model, and costs more!

I think they will rather use HD-DVD since it will become standard. The fact that Blue ray is from Sony makes things different. and BTW I think that so far almost all the pc's in the maker that have HD capabilities have HD-DVD and blue ray its only use by Sony, if I am not wrong.

No, I have seen (in UK) HP business notebook (not pavilion), Sony, Dell, and asus with blu-ray drive. Also, Pavilion desktop PC, now with dual BD/HD DVD option.

For HD DVD, I have seen HP, Toshiba, and Acer.

How is HD-DVD going to become "standard"? It was pretty much a forgone conclusion it was going to lose. It's only backed by three studios (versus all but one for Blu Ray), it's technologically inferior, and Toshiba and Microsoft are basically the only real backers of HD-DVD on the PC. Other manufacturers have always been in the Blu Ray camp.

If I was going to buy one drive or the other, I wouldn't feel very worried about getting a Blu Ray drive, whereas I'd expect an HD-DVD drive to become basically worthless.

Ok, now that I remember I think the only one that I knew besides Sony was Dell. But I did not know that HP(UK), and Asus offered blue-ray.

Well, I guess I have to read more to better inform my self about what companies are using (Blue Ray/HD-DVD). But I can not coment on who's better and who's not.

HP Business laptops are rarely heard. I just know when I complained to HP about the inclusion of HD DVD, and no BD option. They told me to consider their business laptops.

About who's side you're on, it's a matter of personal opinion. Most of companies backed both formats. For me, it's obviously BD

Quite the opposite, I would feel worried if I get HD DVD drive instead of BD drive. that means I can't play my disney BD.
