Does anyone else here have audio problems in any games. I have about 10 games and two have bad audio problems. Tribes 2 and Unreal I & 2 have clicks in the sounds... not stutters but random clicks. I had this in Tribes 2 until i fixed it in option by disabling "3d sound" or whatever but i had to do a system restore because an update disabled my wi-fi(system restore was what i was told to do from hp tech). but now Tribes 2 sound clicks are unfixable and Unreal 1 & 2 were never fixable before or after restore. Anyone else have in game audio problems?

Can anyone tell me why my netbook runs slow and lags time to time? Is it because its running XP and only 1Gb stick?

    Hello guys,

I just received my 311. Everything is OK just on my XP32+MPC-HC+CoreCodec 2.0 combo does not work. All 720p/1080p mkv files are unwatchable.

    1) Is there somebody who could give me a hint here to use my ION on my 311?

    2) Where can I find the newest nvdia beta/drives for the mini?
    Thanks in advance.

    Planning to get a HP 311 with a Intel Atom Processor N280 (1.66GHz, 512KB L2, 667 Mhz FSB) with NVIDIA ION graphics,and 3GB RAM.

Will this model play Facebook games like Cafe, Mob Wars etc...smoothly?

I will also use this to watch DVD Movies via external DVD Drive. Will it be smooth also?

    Thank you.

I've had my mini 311 for about 2 weeks now. It's been great, but the fan seems to run too often (disabled the always on in the bios). It will be off when I boot up the machine, but as soon as I do anything the fan comes on. And it is loud, almost sounds like the fan blades are touching something, just barely.

What are your experiences with the fan and noise. Do I have a bad fan/controller or is this normal? What about on other netbooks - namely the mini 210?

    Thanks in advance!

Well I got it and absolutely love it. Battery lasted about 4-5 hours with me playing 18 wheels of steel. Nice and compact, runs just as quick as my old hp. No complaints here.

I took a look through this thread, maybe i missed it but i dont think i did. Did anyone figure out a way to fix what i believe to be the DPC stuttering issues? I have had this thing for about a week. And the stuttering is really bad, Im thinking about returning the unit.

    Hey there,

I've read this post and many others, I think this laptop may be what Im looking for BUT!

    THE KILLER QUESTION:

    The HP Quickdock 2.0 (KN745AA).
Does it work with the HP Mini 311c??

In the compatibility lists I have seen

    Compaq Mini 311c-1000 PC series
    Compaq Mini 311c-1100 PC series

But looking at images of all the ports on the 311C I cannot see an expansion port. So how the hell would you plug in a quickdock?

I fear the quickdock will not work with the 311c and that would be a deal breaker for me.

    Any one know for sure?

DPC is to do with the soundcards latency settings.

Most common problems are buffer size too low, or incorrect drivers.

You can try uninstalling your sound device from the device manager and reinstalling using the latest drivers.

Also this DPC checking tool may be useful
    -> http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml

    Hope that helps.

In regards to my previous question :)
I emailed HP about the quickdock compatibility with the 311C over a week ago and still no reply. :( Hoping someone here knows.

    I'm totally happy with it.
    It's really beautiful and fast.
I can play games between 2 lecture, watch HD movies on LCD TV in 5.1 sound(with usb soundcard), while the CPU is only 20-30% used, so I can browse the web during that.
The battery lasts for 4-6 hours, and charges in 1,5-2 hours.

In three words: I love it :)

I am looking for a good deal on a 311, anyone know of any coupons or discounts?
Also, I really wish this had an internal TV tuner, Dell has one, but I want HP!

I just got my HP Mini 311. Am I late to the party? Haha! Anyway, I love my Mini 311. Only thing I've changed so far is add a Crucial 2GB DDR3 1333.

    Hi People.
    Very nice Board here^^.
3 Weeks ago i Bricked my Compaq Mini 311c 1130EG.
Before it worked perfekt, but not really for me ;) .
    What i have changed:
Hacked Bios F.16 from Icelord (myhpmini.com)
    Win7 Ultimate x86
    Atom N270 @ 2307MHz (linked 3:2) (big thanks to nicae9^^), Ion-Hack, 3GB Ram,
UF Broadcom 943225 PCI-E Half Mini Card (300Mbit^^),
1 TB HDD (SAMSUNG HM100UI (S2GHJ9BZB03849) (housing adapted with cutter knife^^).
The last Project who was planed was to put in a Mini-PCI-e SSD Card (80GB).
But @ the work with the Cutter Knife to make the HDD-Cutting perfect i destroyed the Socket for the SSD :( .
Now i need an new Mainboard.

Last week i bought a Acer TimelineX 3820TG with i5-460m and put 8GB Ram in there^^.

But i want to fix the Mini because its a little Monster and perfect to use it in the Car when i work with Inpa & co

Sry for my English, i'm German and the Scool is a long Time ago^^

I LOVE my little mini. Right now I have it OC'd to 2351.6 with a 2GB Crucial 1333 module.

It won't replace my G73JH, but I'm still in love with this little "monster".

Hi guys, I'm thinking about upgrading my Compaq Mini 311c with a SATAII SSD (which effectively the Nvidia chipset is capable of)...
    Is it worth the money?
Actually the Mini is way slooowww, so could an SSD give it a REAL boost in terms of performance??
