Does dual graphics work in games? Here are only results of 3Dmark 2011 test. I also tried 3dmark 2011 and resulted P2130 on ASUS N56DP. I watched AMD Monitor and both GPUs were loaded. But I didn't see loading of both GPUs in games. Only 7730m is active in AMD Monitor and I don't see the difference in fps with dual graphics "ON". Has anyone seen both GPUs to be loaded in AMD Monitor?

    Hi yuriyV,

I monitor both, my 7660g and my 7730m while gaming, and I can assure you that they are both working, are you using the Catalyst 13.1 or 13.2 Beta ? Crossfire wasn't possible between the igpu and the 7730m before 13.x, but if you get a P2130 score on 3DMark, I presume that you do, otherwise your score would be below 2000 I guess..

I think that you might not notice any in-game improvements because the 7660g is the limiting factor in this crossfire setup, but if you overclock it (the 7660g), you might notice a better framerate, or less framerate drop in your games

D3zarro, I used both 13.1 and 13.2 Beta 4. When playing Witcher 2, Assassin's creed 3, Far cry 3 I see no loading of 7660G. Only 7730m is active on the graph of AMD Monitor (up to 100%). 7660G loading doesn't exceed 5%. In 3DMark they are both loaded up to 100%. Did you choose a crossfire mode for an application in catalyst panel or left settings by default?

Not really, make sure that your games are set to "High Performance" in the switchable graphics panel, that's the only thing I can think of..

    Hey guys,

I got a stupid question for you, could you tell me the stock voltage of the A10-4600m ? for the 2.3Ghz, 2.7Ghz and 3.2Ghz states ? :)

    Thanks!

Each processor will have different voltages at the same speed, although will be close to one another. If you are going to undervolt, you wont get much from it, to stay stable stay at ~0.05v less. Dont worry about 3.2GHz you cannot lock that in, but 2.7GHz is good to go to lock in on all 4 cores and undervolt too.

No. The difference in performance is too large.

Don't know if this was dumb or what, but I wanted to avoid Optimus and wanted to support AMD, so just ordered a DV6z-7200 with an A10 + Radeon 7670 (Plus Blu Ray, etc.)

Oh well...it's better than the two notebooks I use daily right now, so... hopefully it'll be a good experience!

I did just that! :-D Have a 512GB Crucial M4 on its way! I wanted an M500, both for the built in encryption, and possibly the 960GB drive size (!) but I have no idea when they're actually shipping, and for better or worse I need this system right now.

February 25th is my supposed ship date!

WOW, I cant believe HD 7660G +HD 7730M will crossfire now, I honestly regret selling my Toshiba.. sold it because they would not crossfire.. :(, anyways will the performance increase when newer drivers get released? I'm asking this because I'm using at the moment an HP Dv6 with the AMD A8-3500M + HD 6750M, and to be honest there almost the same in the 3DMark 11:

    Untitled.jpg

Those ^ Scores are all stock nothing overclocked, I can get upto P2500 with an A8-3550mx(Overclocked @3.2Ghz), 1600 ram and overclocking both graphic cards (HD 6620g to 580Mhz, HD 6750m to 925/1250) but unfortunately I killed my CPU trying to reach 4Ghz so my 1600 ram won't work either... (My new APU is on it's way)

Why are the benchmarks for the HD 7660g + 7730m low? I was expecting at least close to P2700!

Question? Does dv6z-7000 have an extra msata port?

Anybody replace TIM on gpu/cpu for this model? It looks tempting but scared I wont be able to put it back together if there is glue holding chassis parts on.

    Anybody test crysis 3 yet?

Ooooh nice! Surprised it's this early in the year, I feel like we just got Trinity!

That article doesn't seem to say much, but I think these are supposed to be 28nm, a third gen Bulldozer core (Steamroller?) and GCN?

I have a Samsung np355v4c laptop. It has a AMD Quad-Core A10-4600M APU with Radeon™ HD 7660G + HD 7670M Dual Graphics. Could I get improvements with going to Catalyst 13.1 or 13.2 and if so anyone know a way? Or am I out of luck?

Some companies don't let you install AMD or Nvidia's drivers on their systems for some dumb reason (although there are work arounds). I don't remember seeing Samsung on that list though, so I THINK it should be as simple as just downloading AMD's newest drivers for their site for your hardware and installing.

I always update since generally bugs get fixed, and early on performance may increase (a few years from now I wouldn't expect increased performance from new driers, but still).

But the drivers on AMD website are for either just the APU or just mobile Radeon graphics. There is nothing about support for laptops with both and say need to go to Manufacturer (Samsung hasn't updated since June 2012).

As far as I know that driver verification tool should download drivers for both. One of the driver updates this year was even explicitly for switchable graphics with both AMD and Intel's newest CPUs (really narrow support in fact, JUST for AMD GPU + AMD Trinity, or AMD GPU + Intel Ivy Bridge).

Tried the tool for 13.1, says its incompatible with my graphics hardware and check Samsung. Never had these issues with my last laptop (before it died) that had Intel cpu/Radeon gpu...

It is an HP and they don't offer dood cooling. In my Asus N56DP-DH11, I can overclock the 7660G with AMD OverDrive to 1300 MHz. I can also overclock the HD 7730M to 700MHz Core Clock, 1100 Mem Clock and still get less than 70C. No artifacts, but I have reduced my 7730M settings to 650-1050.

is there a way to disable the igpu(7660g) and just use the 7670m discrete gpu? Ive heard it runs better.

anybody try the new 13.11 beta mobility drivers yet? i noticed that there is an option for frame pacing now!!!
