I don't know where you got that info from kanehi. I just got off the phone with fedex and they have no new information about the process. I hope your right. Also get the same run around from hp.
-
Mine still shows customs delay -
Just called HP, they said that the paperwork was authorized and that it is being cleared.
Hope its true -
Mine is one of the laptops that is also stuck in customs. This is so annoying. To see that it shipped last Friday and heck its been in AK since Saturday. I am going to be really upset if it isnt here by the end of the week. Mine is a custom 6500 ordered from costco.
-
Anyone with any news on this problem please post new information.
-
so basically it's shipped and gets stuck in alaska? mine shipped yesterday from shanghai
-
Well, my est delivery was the 20th before 10:30am. Now that field in my tracking is blank. Anybody have any new news on these systems stuck in AK?

This mornings HP/Customs delay update:
9:05am - Fedex - Customs has not received paperwork. They are getting quite a few calls. They suggest we call HP and request a shipping refund.
9:09am - HP - Asked for supervisor. Explained the entire situation (again). First supervisor says another 24 to 48hrs. Transfered to second supervisor. Hung up on. Called back. Asked for a supervisor. explained AGAIN. Wouldn't give a date and gave a canned response.
Everyone should call. This is rediculous! 5 days! -
I called also. Same story, no paperwork received yet. Waiting for HP to do their thing......
-
I got the same info from HP customer service as deputy963 did. Just got off the phone with them. The first level guy had to inquire with his supervisor who relayed the info that they're "working on it" but couldn't commit to a specific date when it would be resolved.
-
I just do not see what could be so hard about fixing this issue. Should only take a day to get the right paperwork together.
-
I can't believe its been 5 days now...my new 6500 is among the 900...I would not have minded a couple day delay, though this is insane. If they ship out tomorrow...fedex does not deliver HP shipments on Saturday I believe, so we will have to wait until Monday. I would love to have my new laptop to use over the weekend.
-
Something has to be going on more than messed up paperwork.
-
I saw that deputy963 found the number for the Anchorage customs offices. Has anyone called them to see if they can provide more insight on what the missing link is?
-
For those that dont know this is not a new thing it happened to me when i first ordered my dv900ot.. now i ordered the dv9500.. and it hasnt even been made yet.. someoned and idiot at fedex.. and HP because this is a reoccuring problem..they same bulll**** run around at customs
if you dont get your laptop on the day that you did recieve it you can get the 50 dollars by saying you were terribly inconvienienced by the delay.... -
This is not new... there's other threads about shipping speed and this happens every so many shipments. I was lucky, I guess. My 9000z came from Shanghai to Alaska to Indianapolis and was cleared in Indy in less than a day, so they don't always have problems. I was reading in another thread, though, that they had a million dollars worth of inventory held up in customs on one recent shipment from Shanghai. Just be sure to call them and let them know you were inconvenienced. Trust me, they still have enough margin left in their products to give you the $50.
-
This is Pathetic...
-
While it may not do any good (at least made me feel better), I used HP's email contact me section to send a message to the CEO. Basically just expressing my frustration at HP's slow response to fixing the issue with customs.
-
Custom's is a *****...
Even flying back from a foreign country I was held up for an hour so they could individually search my bags.
There are countless posts on this forum about people who recieved their laptop a week before their SHIPPING DATE. Thats 12-14 days before they should've.
Clearly it's not paperwork that needs to be filed or cleared, because that would've been faxed and fixed in hours.
If you don't know 100% what is going on, don't blame HP or FedEx or Customs, just take it as it is. -
This is with my tracking number as of 6.21.07.. So it's in Indiana now waiting to be distributed by HP?

I ordered on a 9500t on June 6th HP site still says Order in Production (Estimated to ship on June 20, 2007).
After reading this thread I called HP and they said it shipped on the 15th but has a customs delay and gave me the Fedex tracking number. Fedex site shows.

Fedex says they are still waiting for paperwork. -
that's the shipment, mine shipped on the 15th too but I ordered on the 11th.
-
So does anyone know anything new? This is so annoying!
-
This whole thing PI**** me off! Especially the attitude of HP and the way I'm treated when I call them.
It's like going out with an attractive woman and being told you can look, but not touch! It's right here, but you can't have it -
Wonder what they would do if over 900 computers had to be returned because delivery was refused then the CC charges all were disputed.
-
Well friends hp actually just called me back, but the news is still grim. I wish I had something new for everyone, but I got nothin. I got my $50 return but would happily trade it in for my laptop. The guy I spoke with was actually quiet helpfull. He said he was in contact with hp corportate and some of the highest people were doing what they could. Whatever that means. The problem is it may be US customs holding up the works, although I do not see what is so difficult with this other than there actually being ak 47s bundled with my 6500t. Also pretty much no chance of receiving this by tomorrow, which means now Monday at the earliest. Man I have bad luck. Just hope it is all in one piece by the time it gets here at the end of august.
-
HP is now telling me my DV9500t was never build and has a parts delay. This is after they gave me a Fedex tracking number that shows it is in ANCHORAGE, AK. They now tell me it will not be built unill the 27th. I ordered it on the 6th. They will not tell what part is the problem but hey they did give me a coupon for $50. I told them I wanted a credit and not a coupon since I spent 4,500 on my laptop order. They said no.
-
I gave up hoping I would get my laptop by the weekend awhile ago.
-
Why would customs hold up some batch and let others through? Is the 6500 some type of "specialized" laptop that's a threat to national security? There must be some underlying reason for the delay. Could be the paper work is not in order. Funny how it used to be that the US couldn't export computers to other countries and now they make the computers for us. How ironic.
-
Customs probably is using the laptops to play games and does not want to release them.
-
Customs..Customs.. why the hell do they have to go to China for making a laptop. Its like holding the ear from behind your head. All these hassles and crap shouldnt have happened if HP built the laptops in US only. Cutting down costs by outsourcing business processes is one thing, but outsourcing production is utter stupidity. It obviously will have a different set of hurdles and headaches.
If a person who has ordered on 6th and still not received the laptop.. thats ridiculous.. The estimated date given by HP is just the date when the laptop will get built and its is not the date when it will be at your home. It depends on the shipping method. I ordered on 14th and the order status still shows it will be BUILT by 28th and then it will again go through the shipping and customs crap for .. God knows who many more days. And I need to leave US by 3rd. I suppose there is no way I can get my laptop by 3rd.
Just a quick question ?
** If my laptop reaches my address after I've left US, can I get that box posted to another location (my friend's address) ? What would be the new costs etc. ? Will I have to pay tax again according to the new address (in another state) ? -
I asked about that because I am in a similar situation except I leave on Monday. Basically Hp and Fedex said that I cannot change the shipping address. The only way would be to have someone else ship it after it arrives at its original destination.
-
I have the same problem, bought my 6500T on 6-10 and said estimated ship date is 6-25. I checked my order status and said Clearance Delay. Been on Clearance Delay for a few days now. I do not blame Fed ex or HP, Customs is just ridiculous and should relax. I hope I get my laptop soon.

Laptops held hostage, Day 6.......

I have heard HP has not provided all the proper paperwork. Have heard FedEX messed something up. Heard customs is looking at the shipment for some reason. Has anyone talked directly to customs and gotten a reason for the delay?
-
According to Fedex the number of held systems is now over 2000!!!!
Fedex, who is the only people who will actually provide real info, say that HP FINALLY provided the paperwork yesterday (Thursday). Ahhh you know there is a but! The paperwork HP provided was incomplete. Jeesh people!. Fedex thinks HP will hopefully correct the missing information today. She suggested to call after 3pm Anchorage time (flights leave then). -

HP needs to suck it up and pay for the Saturday delivery if these systems ship today.
-

most orders are shipping a week to 10 days early, but getting through customs, ahhhhh, that is the question
-
Called Fedex, still waiting on the commercial invoice from HP for my package and the other 956 systems on that shipment.
-
I am sitting and waiting also. According to FEDEX records my computer arrived in Alaska on last Friday and has been sitting in customs since then. The ship date was today, if the computer doesn't ship today I won't recieve it as schedule. I am very frustrated because I don't have a computer to use at the moment, my Dell that is 5 years old finally died and the Toshiba, 7 years old, is so slow I can get things faster by using the browser on my Nextel Phone.
I called HP and the respresentative told me I couldn't request a refund for shipping until the 26th of June which is the day the computer would arrive based on the shipping data provided at the time of purchase.
-
Yep, looking right now like this wll not get fixed before the weekend so will push into the middle of next week.
-
Even if i got free shipping, can i get a refund?
-
Finally...It got unstuck
