Yippee!! My 6500 was sent out on the 25th and I should get it tomorrow. It's currently in Indianapolis, which is really only a few hours from Milwaukee. I'll have a chance to really try it out this weekend.

My dv9500t with an orginal est. ship date 6-29-07 SHIPPED on 7-5-07.
I was told that my selection of NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS was the cause of the delay.
Curiously they are shipping the unit without my ordered system recovery DVD (windows ultimate). The DVD will ship later. HP sent me a $50 certificate that must be used by 7-31-07 for the recovery DVD delay. I also received a $50 certificate, valid through 10-31-07, for the delay in shipping.
The $50 certificates seem reasonable compensation to me for a short delay on an estimated shipping date. I would have been happier if I could combine the certificates and if the 1st certificate had a longer validation period. -
So if it says est ship date August 16th, it means it will ship from the factory that day and I will still have to wait the standard business delivery days (5 - 7) for my laptop to arrive?

Yes.
Mine had an estimated ship date of the 15th, and it is suppose to arrive then. It was shipped Friday, or the 10th.
